I have a fuji v10 camera and for some reason the Lens won't close. It's practically brand new and this is the first time it ever happened. When powered on it says focus error, and when i turn it off, the lens doesn't close. I tried pushing it and banging it a little bit, but nothing helped. Is there another way to fix this problem or am i basically gonna have to buy a new camera.

Look for your warranty card that was in the box and find the info on how to get it repaired. You did register you camera with Fuji after you bought it?

I bought a couple dozen Canon digital cameras for my coworkers a few years ago and had to return four units for factory repair, while they were under warranty.

You'll probably have to call some 800 number and speak with a person to get a Return Merchandise Authorization or a Repair Authorization number.

It's really not a big deal if the camera is still fairly new, then it's most likely under warranty. You will also have to submit proof of purchase, so I hope you kept the store receipt for the camera.

You should definitely bang on a precision piece of electronics. By doing so you can maximize any damage and guarantee your warranty is voided.

Take it back where you bought it and ask for their help.

In the future, if you feel as though you need to bang something, bang your head on the wall. Just be prepared to pay for damaging the wall.
