I am waiting to hear from the Air Force on if they are going to accept me as of yet. I do have my GED but have very high scores on my ASVAB overall as well as in each catagory. I have already taken my physical as well as passed the DLAB and the EDPT. Does anyone know how long it takes to find out?

Please no comments on how hard it is to get into the airforce with a GED I am well aware and did intense research before speaking with my recruiter but I cannot really get a straight answer on how long it will take to find out.

I scored a 92 overall on my asvab as well as qualified for all jobs.... yet I am still waiting to find out almost a month later, is this normal?

Thanks!!

I would stay on ur recruiter. My husband got into the air force with a ged but he also had 15 credit hours at a mechanical training school. The new fiscal year started in october for the air force which is why it was easier for my husband to get in with a ged. His recruiter put a good word in to his boss. They had to wait for october and made him take all his tests to insure he was serious and elgible. He took the asvab and had to wait 4 days for a waiver since he has a ged. And about 2 weeks later he signed a contract. His recruiter was always straight forward and searching for an alternative if we came across an obstacle. The whole process of enlisting was almost 2 months if that helps. He is leaving december 18th. Good luck and again talk to your recruiter it really depends on them.

i will inform you approximately my journey in the Marine Corps. I had dropped out my freshman twelve months of high school and as a manner to enlist I had to get 15 college credit. it rather is yet another selection that's available. i be attentive to that for me, entering into the Marine Corps develop into greater difficult with a GED, even nonetheless it proved to be an particularly good undertaking which I had to triumph over in my existence. As a facet notice, in case you went this path, you does not have the concerns of being on a waiting checklist or any minimums for the ASVAB with the obtrusive requirement of having to attain a 30 something.

Stay on the recruiter. If that doesn't put a bullet under him, find out who his boss is and go to them. There is more paper work involved when you have a GED, for some reason, and they hate paperwork. If that doesn't work, try another branch of service, your scores will speak for you!!!! Good luck!

I would think that it would take a week atleast, but if you did well on the DLAB they should be rushing for you to get in.
I would think that its not normal for them to take this long, but they probably have to make sure of background stuff, as far any criminal records, traffic violations, etc. I'm not saying that you have them but that paired with a GED would be the determining factor of when they contact you.

Hey,
Not normal for it to take that long...give your recruiter a call, and find out where you are in the process.
Good Luck

you have asked this at least twice before. they are in no rush to give you a shot as they have plenty of qualified candidates who DID finish high school.
