I had to go to the emergency room late last night, and was extremely sick until about 5am this morning. I had hoped that somehow I would be able to make it to my interview this morning anyway, but it was scheduled for 10am, and I passed out around 8 this morning, and didnt wake up until about 11:30. I have put so much time and energy into trying to get this job, and then this happened..I feel horrible that I wasted someones time, and im sure they now think I am just some irresponsible girl that doesnt want this job, but I want this job so much! Is there anything can I do? Will they schedule another interview for me if I call and explain to them what happened?

The only way you're going to find out is if you ask them--not post the question here. You're wasting time--you need to call them ASAP.

It's a judgement call. I'd offer them proof of your emergency room visit, apologize profusely and tell them that you really want this job.

Call them right away and tell them what happened. Explain to them that you were trying to make the interview but weren't able to because you were in the emergency room all night (I wouldn't tell them that I passed out around 8). Tell them you feel badly - you thought that you'd still be able to make it but that you weren't otherwise you would have called earlier. Let them know that you really would like to still be considered for the job because you really think it is a great fit, that you feel horrible for having wasted people's time and ask them if they would consider rescheduling the interview. Most people would do it - these things happen.

Awe you should have called them this morning before passing out asking them to re-schedule. I would call them immediately, explain what happened, apologize profusely, hope for the best. If they do decide to interview you, bring something from the hospital that proves you are telling the truth and not making up some bogus reason for oversleeping.

Call them and tell them what happened. They won't judge you for something like this. And express to them how much you want this job and can't believe that this happened and hope there can be another interview. Bring your ER papers with you on the interview and show it to them. They will probably just say oh we believe you but bringing them in shows you care. Be happy and professional and don't keep apologizing about missing the interview. Remember you are there to show them what you have to offer not about how sorry you are for missing an appointment. Good Luck

Obviously, you should have called and left a vmail message before you passed out. Again I'm being obvious that you should have called as soon as you woke up. Call immediately, explain the circumstances and hope they are willing to overlook your mistake.

I think you should move on and keep hunting. One if you call and apologize, you'll be in a poor position when negotiating pay. Two, sickness never goes well because they may just think you're lying, you're lazy or not healthy. An unhealthy employee is costly.

Call them and explain what happened - and do it TODAY. If they believe you, they might schedule another interview, or might not, but it's worth a try.
