If the column is 2.0 m in length before adding weight, what is the length after adding the weight?

The formula to use is:
Delta = P*L/(A*E) where:
Delta is the compression of the column,
P is the load,
L is the length,
A is the area, and
E is the modulus of elasticity
If the units were in English, I would plug in the data however, I don't know right off, for example, what the value of E (30E+6 psi) is in
Metric.

Well, I guess that would depend on which font type and size used to type it...

I think you need the compressive strength of the steel used for the column to work this out.
