I just moved out of my moms house. I had a dog and she had a dog. Her dog was very attached to my dog, my dog didn't really care for her dog. The problem is my mom's dog, Sassy is really lonely now. I took my dog with me and my brother took both of his cats so she's all alone in the house. The question is what to do? Should my mom get another dog to keep her company or will that seem like she's being pushed away for another pet? She's very possesive and a puppy will need a lot of attention and training but she's so sad and lonely, she just wanders around the house, she won't play with her toys. What should we do?

First of all, the dogs are not neglected. She's just used to having another dog and two cats at home to play with while we're at work and now there's no one there. She's gets a lot of attention when we're home. She just imprinted really hard on my dog, they slept together, they ate together, Sassy wouldn't even go outside to the bathroom without my dog. I'm not suggesting another dog to "take care of her" I'm suggesting a friend.

Put the animals back the way they were and you and your brother get other animals.

You can try getting another pet like a dog or a cat if you want to but make sure when you go to the store to get that pet you take the other dog with you. This way you can see if they are going to get along with eachother or if they are going to fight. Theres nothing saying you have to get a puppy either, you could get a dog or cat that is a bit older and trained.

I think if your mom is open to another animal in the house that you should go to the local animal shelter and get an adult dog. I would make sure 1st that it will get along with the current dog. That would be helping everyone involved, Your mom's dog from being lonely, the dog stuck in the shelter, and you and your mom's conscience. Good Luck!!

If she wants another dog then I would suggest adopting an adult dog from the pound. They are all wonderful dogs and the older ones usually die because everyone wants a puppy. If she doesn't want another dog then I would just pay her dog more attention and bring yours to visit often. The dog will get over it pretty quickly.

You should get another dog or your mom should! That way her dog won't be lonely. maybe get a young dog but not a puppy or an adult dog that is already trained.

How do you sense some cat? Cats are large companions and are truly hassle-free to look after. it truly is in basic terms a rely of no rely in the journey that your dogs gets alongside with a cat and vice versa. i've got considered many canines and cats play jointly and carry close out - it truly is totally amazing! in any different case, discover/hire somebody to drop by using mid-day and take your dogs for a walk to interrupt up the monotony. And prepare your dogs to play with a food crammed kong and buster food cubes. canines can spend hours fiddling with those toys attempting to get each and all of the food out. They even have computerized kong dispensers now which you will set to launch a arranged kong each few hours. yet do no longer complication, i comprehend many canines who stay on my own throughout the time of the day and that they are wonderful - ordinarily they only sleep. ascertain which you do get up actual early and characteristic a marvelous long walk consisting of your dogs and play with him previously you leave, and returned once you get domicile. Labs choose quite some workout!

No,another dog is not the answer. Dogs need human companionship! Another dog won't supplement the love and affection of an owner! That puppy needs love from it's owner. Try to find a way to give it more attention and if you can't, maybe consider a new home for it with people who do have the time and ability to lavish it with the love and attention it needs. TWO neglected dogs are not the answer here. Your mom should NOT get another pet if she can't even really give enough atttention to the first one.

you do not need another pet but the moms dog needs more attention especially in the form of exercise. establish new routines that are unique to that particular dog. spend more time with the pets you have.

If it's that important you should leave your dog with your mom and you get another dog...don't you think that would be easier than your mom getting a puppy? besides you could visit your dog any time
