Then he would not have been who he was.

He showed us that even in human form we can overcome temptations....He didn't fail and never could fail. But to answer your question, if it had happened then the New Testament would have been changed. But praise God! He did not fail!!!

I would not worry about it, because simply that He didn't fail, so all these "what if's and woulda coulda and shoulda's and all that is just worthless dreaming and wasted thought.
And for one thing, Jesus was not really Tempted, Jesus was led up to be tempted by Satan, and Satan tried to tempt Him, But Jesus was not tempted in anyway, But Satan being Satan, had to try, and could do no less.
He knew he would fail in his attempts to Tempt Jesus , but he had to try.
Satan knows he is defeated, his only recourse is to take as many of God's creation with him, Unfortunately he will get a good majority of them.

What is with the what if questions? The point is, Jesus didnt succumb to the temptation, he didnt sin, and yes he was scared to die, but he did it anyway, BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH. He did it for the joy that was set before him.

I think that whole story is fiction. I believe Jesus existed, but I don't believe in Satan, so there's no good answer to this question from my perspective.

The world would be a much worse place. It's humorous to see people say "better" or "worse" when they have no logical basis for good or evil.
Your hypothetical question was answered by Jesus almost 2000 years ago.

What is the interest in idle speculation? Or focusing on a past that will never be? Costly five points.

If that were the case, than Jesus would not have been God, then He would not have been the savior. We would still have to wait for Christ. good thing that's not how it happened though!
