I live in the south of ireland and was advised to travel to the North for dental treatment as it is much cheaper than in the republic. Thanks.

Cheaper still, fly to india, have a month on the beach in madras or mumbai and get your teeth done all for the price that you will pay for the teeth in the UK. Good dentists in India too.
Get some glasses for £20 or a large supply of contact lenses, need any dresses or blouses, get em made for £10 each , made to measure, 22 ct gold for the price of 9ct here.
If you have time and money its a worthwhile trip wonderful country too
