This morning I had a telephone interview with a woman from a large company. I know her first name was jackie however I didn't get her last name. How should I address a thank you note? also should the thank you note be emailed or hand written?

Thank You

Lol well first of all Im not a big fan of the 'thank you' note. In the economy now which is employee strength rather than employer I dont see companies sending these oh so valuable candidates thank yous for their time as if a prospective employee's time is less valuable. But thats another rant lol.....If you dont know the name you could either call the companys reception and ask - tell them you never got Jackies last name and would like to have it to address correspondence. Or you can simply address your letter to her by her title - director or human resources or whatever.

I would call the company and ask the receptionist what the interviewers name is. I would type, sign and mail the thank you letter. It is more personal then an e-mail. If the receptionist can't help you then Dear Madam or To whom it may concern will do.

Telephone the company and explain that you want to write a thank you note. Explain the situation and she will be able to help. Make sure you get the right spelling of her name.
It is more personal and better etiquette to write.

Call the company and ask for the last name of the person who interviewed you. The company appreciates your thoughtfulness.

Call the company and find out what her full name is. I wouldn't e-mail it. A typed or hand written thank you is best.
