Yes. President Bush deposed Saddam Hussein, who caused the largest oil spill in history, which spilled 378 million gallons of oil into the Persian Gulf in January 1991. That's over 6000 times as much oil as was recently spilled in San Francisco. Moreover, President Bush caused U.S. forces to track down Al Qaeda terrorists, as Al Qaeda terrorists created massive pollution of lower Manhattan by attacking the World Trade Center towers. Clearly, George W. Bush's policies have been tough on environmental polluters.

Public polls as a gauge of President Bush's policies are an unreliable metric. While "Only 21% of Americans approve of the way President Bush is handling environmental issues," I'd expect one could easy obtain survey results that would show "Only 21% of Americans approve of the way President Bush brushes his teeth," even if their knowledge of President Bush's dental hygiene practices is no greater than their knowledge of President Bush's handling of environmental issues.

the oil spill had nothing to do with why sadam was ousted. G.w comes from an oil background, has repeatedly backed oil drilling in reserves which throws up uranium into the atmosphere, and has not taken global warming seriously enough to implement a plan to stop or reduce actions by major corporations that are proven to be detrimental to the ecosystem. the answer is no.

Only if George H. W. Bush, little George's father, deems his choices to be favorable. Otherwise, George W. doesn't truly "think" things out.

I'd say he's been one of the worst, while his Daddy was one of the best. Amazingly, Al Gore did virtually nothing for the environment in his 8 years as Veep.

Of course. With policy that favors business and the free market he is opening the road for private industry to solve our energy and environmental problems.

"Only 21% of Americans approve of the way President Bush is handling environmental issues."

The list of harmful actions he's taken is endless. From weakening the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts to censoring and editing scientific documents about global warming to undermining worldwide efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

His EPA refused to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions until the State of Massachusetts sued them and the Supreme Court ruled that they had to regulate them.

The EPA should be leading the way on environmental issues, not being told to do its job by the states and Supreme Court!

Bush's policies have been an environmental disaster.
