Q: Why do Iraq Veterans Against the War call for the immediate withdrawal from Iraq?
A: There are several reasons why immediate withdrawal is the critical first step toward solving the problems in Iraq.
The reasons and rationale given for the invasion were fraudulent.

Go to this website http://www.ivaw.org/faq and read why these veterans of the Iraq War are against it and want our troops to come home. So no more of you neo-cons who ask "are you there" "did you serve". These people really were there and did serve.

first of all, these young vets don't have the college background(war college that is) to understand that ' measure withdrawal of americans is the only safe way to leave iraq at this point, america has given up way too much in lives and economically, just to cut and run

I have been saying all along that the military is comprised of American citizens that mirror the politics of the civil community. It is good that they can say what they feel and should be provided the platform to give their opinion. I will still feel that everything we are doing in the middle east is true of heart by the military and will in the end increase peace overall.

Keeping things in perspective....

I am serving.

I have been to Iraq also.

I have met some people that side with IVAW in the military.

I have met a whole hell of a lot more that disagree with IVAW. Some of the Soldiers I know don't agree with all of the reasons for invading, but now that we are there, we can't just leave because the enemy is there now.

Sorry, but I call the site a phoney site. There's absolutely no concrete proof that these people are who they say they are, and the lunatic left has already proven itself more than capable of pulling phoney soldiers from its rear.

In addition, these are the same people who are seeking to undermine the military by taking up the time of recruiters, hoping to shut recruitment down altogether.

Sorry, but IVAW is a fraud. Read more, and you'll find that honesty is not the site's strong suit. Oh... By the way... If the reasons were fraudulent, I guess you weren't paying attention to the statements of democrats as early as 1998...

Watch this video and you'll see what I'm talking about:

Well first off I like to say that I mostly disagree with the IVAW. But as vets they have earned a right to their opinion. What I do agree with is the mishandling of equipping US servicemen and women. Sending injured soldiers to the front lines. and our country's current economic position. With that being said I believe that the US military are not just doing the best they can but are highly successful in their operations given the political, economic, and supply stresses that it is under. Our current military are the best of us and not to fully support them is criminal in my mind.

These people are in the minority. The majority of us who have and continue to serve in Iraq understand the necessity of us being there. We don't like war and we don't enjoy Iraq. We just understand the importance of our mission.

I will answer their statements and tell you why they are wrong and partisan...

The Iraq war is based on lies and deception.

Bush had the same Intel Clinton and Congress had...the Dems had be spouting for years that Saddam had WMDs and Clinton authorized the Military to get rid of him.

The Iraq war violates international law.

If this is true, then Bosnia and Kosovo violated the same made up laws...the truth is, Saddam broke every part of the Cease Fire...which is proven by Clinton bombing Iraq hundreds, if not thousands of times in the 90's..

Corporate profiteering is driving the war in Iraq.

Once again this is partisan bull mess of lower ranking soldiers taking their talking points for Liberal wackos...Clinton gave non-bid contracts to the same company (Hallburton) in Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, and Kosovo...I knw because I was there for three of them and several friends of mine were in Somalia...

Overwhelming civilian casualties are a daily occurrence in Iraq.

That is a part of war...guess how many civilans we killed in World War II...hundreds of thousands...most of the killing is Muslim killing Muslim...which has been going on for hundreds of years...

Soldiers have the right to refuse illegal war.

I guess the same way a Soldier has the right to refuse to pull duty on Christmas...right...no if you sign your name on the dotted line, you do what you are told until you ETS or get put out...if this was true, why could I have not refused to go to Haiti, Bosnia, and Kosovo...see answer one...this is the same bitching you hear from "Soup Sandwiches" every day...

Service members are facing serious health consequences due to our Government's negligence.

Not more than any war...how about Clinton forcing American Soldiers to take the Anthrax Vaccine in the late 90's...there was no war then, but he made us take it...and if we refused...the present you got was a Dishonorable Discharge for refusing an Direct Order from an Officer...and now many studies have shown that the vaccine causes health problems...I am one of them...

The war in Iraq is tearing our families apart.

My thing is, if your wife leaves you because you are gone, she was going to leave you anyway for some other reason...by the way why should the National Guard and Reserves be treated differently...I wonder if they want some milk and cookies too?

The Iraq war is robbing us of funding sorely needed here at home.

This is very debatable...just more Liberal wacko crap...we would not need this much funding if Clinton had not continuously cut the Military budget in the 90's...so if some one says that "Bush sent us to war with outdated equipment"...that was actually Clinton..and to answer their thing about Walter Reed (WRAMC)...i have worked for the Army Medical Department for over 15 years...in the 90's when Clitnon kept cutting our funding the Hospitals had to decide weather to buy new equipment or update barracks...guess which one won out...(also WRAMC was suppose to be closed down in 09 since the Army built a new hospital at Ft Bragg, NC Womack AMC because it has a bigger Military Population than DC...and the money they are using to fix the soon to be closed down WRAMC was to be used to buil a new Hospital at Ft Benning, GA which has a huge Military population) the major complaint about WRAMC was the barracks...I lived in condemned barracks at Ft Bliss in 96 for over a year...who was President then...and it has always taken a long time to be Med Boarded...mine took a year and a half...

The war dehumanizes Iraqis and denies them their right to self-determination.

Can't answer that one...but you are suppose to dehumanizes the enemy...makes them easier to kill...i.e. the Soldiers in Somalia called the Somalies "Skinnies"

Our military is being exhausted by repeated deployments, involuntary extensions, and activations of the Reserve and National Guard.

Well this can be blamed on Clitnon because of his down sizing of the Military in the 90's...for example in 95 if you have not made SGT E-5 in 8 years...they put you out...in my unit in Korea we had 8 good SPC E-4's RCPed (Retention Control Point) out of my unit of 100 soldiers in 95...I think the number was 40 or 50K Soldiers that were RCPed or QMPed in the 90's...so that is where all the Active Duty Soldiers went...and the National Guard and Reserves...I was at a Inprocessing Station (Ft Gordon, GA) for the NG and Res...and when 60% or in some cases more of your unit is unable to deploy for some reason or another, you are going to have to do more
tours...

I find this group a little suspect...who pays for them to go around protesting...George Soros maybe...if you take this groups "Real" membership (Get rid of all the fakers) and compare it to the Soldiers who have actually served it is not even 1%...so that means people are beliving a very minute group...and most of them are lower ranking Soldiers who do not see the big picture...this group is representative of the Whinners that were already in the Army...but now they are given a platform and a check to protest...
