I'm a Christian, however, this category is for Religion & Spirituality so you are going to have a "variety" of answers. Think about it this way, it's human nature to want to peek into an envelope that is addressed confidential. If you address your question as Attn. Christians!!!? It's going to be like setting a cookie jar on the counter in front of your twin girls (I read your 360-how beautiful). Sometimes, things are irresistable. Those that do not have the power of God with them, do not have the strength to overcome. They judge when they should not. They cast stones. Maybe someday Yahoo will create a site(s) specifically designed for religion(s) and that will eliminate much of the chaos. For now, however, ask the questions that you wish to ask. You will receive answers from all sides. Remember, you have the gift of discernment and can sift through them.

I have to agree..we are not God to judge anyone. Im a christian too and as a christian I feel as if we have a responsibilty to show respect and treat ALL others with dignity we are supposed to be setting an example. You lead people to Christ through love, compassion and again example. Bashing sends a message of negativity and further pushes away people who in some cases are longing to find the lord or who might had if they had a good christian nearby.
Chastity
quick PS you do NOT have to compromise yourself or the word of God in order to show love respect and dignity

My thoughts are, if you want a question like this to be taken seriously, don't start it with an incorrect statement that suggest all christian treat the two undignified and disrespectful. Maybe using key words like "some" or "a few." Even give an example of this. You would change the entire tone of your question.
But if the point of your question is to just "judge" the Christians you're talking about then I guess the message is intented and will be given the appropriate amount of consideration!

Not all Christians are like that. I'm a Christian and whatever religion someone is, is fine with me. I don't feel like I need to bash them, even if they bash me for being Christian.
But I think it can go both ways. There are athiests and agnostics who bash people for being Chrstians as well. I mean there are some people who claim they are Christians yet live by their own rules and I guess give the rest of the Christians a bad name.
All we can do is be a good example and try not to hate cause Jesus showed love all the time to everyone. We can also pray for them.

finally I am not the only Christian who feels this way- however I must say something here, that even Christ would say. "We are to speak the truth in love and grace." We are to love people that do not believe as we do- we are to be Christ to them. However we are never to say, "sin is ok" and be tolerant- because even Jesus told the woman caught in adultery- "where are your accusers, GO and sin no more." I have asked very similar questions before. We are to love those we come in contact with, because no one will want to come to know Jesus if we don't respond to others like He does. Great question and statement!!!

Have you seen the atheists and agnostic posts?
Yes, I agree we are to be Christ-like examples. However, I will not compromise the Word of God to do it. And that's what a lot of them expect me to do. Most of the time, I notice they get irrate because you simply tell them the truth, and they take it like you are attacking them. Are we not to tell them the truth, then? Of course we are. If someone asks me about God's word, I tell them the truth. If they don't like the truth, I can't help that. I tell them because I love them, not because I want to argue with them. Jesus also said, " I have not come for the righteous, but for the sinners."
Jesus said, too, that "We would be hated, because of Him." they hated Him, why wouldn't they hate us?" That is something I expect, but, I still won't compromise God's Word, even if it (the Word) "offends" someone.
Thank you, Socko for standing up for Jesus!

It has been said that the greatest single cause of Atheism in the world is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and deny Him by their lifestyle.
I hope and pray that anything that I post is done with humility and respect towards others. While I may disagree with their position the last thing I would want to do is be so harsh and demeaning that I diminish my own walk and do harm to the name of Jesus.

I have answered the same question and ended up getting bashed in return. So take it with a grain of salt. I try to treat everyone with respect, regardless of color, sex, lifestyle or creed.

Those who despise Christianity will pose as one on YA! then say the most abominable things to make them look small and petty. Now, would someone who's Lord that commands us to "love our enemies" and "do good for to those who despitefully use you" as well as exhort us to "be wise as serpents, yet gentle as doves" be a true believer or impostor? Are they not more likely their own self-satisfied lord?
Jesus said that each man will give an account for every idle word they utter. I'll leave it in His hands to deal with them. I just look for the true seekers. Do not feed trolls.
Matthew 12:36
Jesus said, "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment."
Matthew 7:6
“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces." - ie Do not feed the trolls!
