Because the whole reason for lowering the penalty for crack is to lower prison populations. Your suggestion would have the opposite effect.

Let's increase it for all types of drugs. And the death penalty to dealers and suppliers. Then you would have a real war on drugs. Lets bomb manufacturing plants no matter where they are.

I believe crack cocaine makes the person 'wild' and other forms are more tame. Simple 'possession' sends many to jail and overcrowds it while murderers, drug dealers and/or congressmen run free.

As in coca-cola? (which used to actually contain coke) I think we should do what other civilized countries do & put drug users in rehab & keep violent criminals in jail.
