The true nature of any religion or organization is revealed by the fruit that it bears. If a religion does not produce personal transformations profound enough to transcend corruption and power play, then its' well spring is corruption and egomania. Run from it!

Follow God and His Spirit, not fallible men and and religious organizations. Christianity is about living a Spiritual life with God, not a "religious" one for the approval of man. Man will always struggle with sin (greed, pride, etc.). Love, forgiveness and understanding resolves the corruption and power plays... at least our part in it.

Become an atheist and leave this impossible task behind.
This happens, not just in Religion but in just about ANY organization. People are people and the meek submit and the strong wield their power. (or those who want to APPEAR strong)
The only way we can avoid power plays is when we can be conscious enough as a WHOLE to not require this part of ourselves to EXPRESS. Once EGO comes out to play, even the BEST of intentions will die away.
LOVE and RESPECT will prevail.
In the meantime though, we may well FAIL.

Run a religious organization according to the word of God(it's quite specific) and their won't be a "big head" problem or a power struggle(usually, every dog has his day).

Take some Quiet Time seek with honesty for a solution, then listen to the still small voice within you - and obey! You ll be amazed at the results. After all Anthony Robbins does say that the power lies within you

Through education only. Once people understand the consequences of corruption, people will no longer passively allow it to happen.
Religion is powerful in countries where education is a privilege. Once we are taught to think and question, religions become weaker.
