Depends on how much he makes and what percentage of time he'll have custody of the baby.

When I divorced my ex-wife, I wanted her to keep the kids and I'd pay child support. In that state, general guidelines were that I'd pay between 25% - 28% of my take-home pay in support. I wondered about people who didn't work and found that they still have to pay the same percentage based upon minimum wage, even if they weren't making minimum wage.

But states differ, and also circumstances differ, that can reduce the percentage or amount of support. Even the Filthy Rich argue in court about how much to pay.

And that's if the baby's father pays anything at all. He can be ordered to pay, but if he doesn't, you get nothing, and it will take months or even years to force him to pay up. And he may simply opt for jail rather than pay (although that would be truly rare).

There are MANY factors involved in this.

First, it depends on how much money he makes.
Second, it depends on if you get medical from the state. If not, then he will be required to obtain medical insurance for the child either by adding the child to his insurance or obtaining private health insurance. -OR- in some instances, the judge will allow you to obtain health insurance and the father to pay for it, especially if the child is added to your employment insurance but you pay a premium each week/month etc...

Good luck!

The actual cash amount given is usually not more than 10% of his basic salary, but it can be made more if his expenditures are minimal and he remains singal.
This 10% or more is used for nappies, shampoo, etc, he is also supposed to give medical coverage and pay school fees when the child is at that age.

Depending on what state he is living in and does he pay child support on any other children? And it will depend on a % of his income and what the Judge will require him to pay. Good luck to you and I hope you receive your child support payment on a regular bases.

In some states, it is 20% of net for the first child and 5% more for every other child. Not much if you think about it.

Your state will determine what he owes based on a formula that includes his income and costs for the child. The judge will set the amount.

Depends on how much he makes and what state you are in (he is in)
Depending on the situation, my ex pays 1/3 of his monthly salary, which is $798 for one child....
But that is just one situation...It will probably be less though

Depends on how much he makes, also the situation around the reason you are not together, if it goes to court then the judge will decide. He may want to get a second job.

Depends on how much you make and how much he makes and the cost of living in your area. It is rarely enough to actually raise a child well on but every little bit helps.
