I've been working a steady temp job over the past 6 months. Over the holidays in December, I'm going to have about a week, maybe more, with no work. But I'll be back to the same job after that week. Unfortunately, I can't really afford not to work... Can I claim unemployment for that one week without work??

There is usually a one week waiting period before eligibility. I don't believe you will be able to collect.

Go ahead and apply - the unemp comp people will determine whether you are eligible. It depends on state law. In most places, you can't collect for the first week, so if you're only off a week you probably won't get anything.

usually the "stand down" period or waiting period for unemployment is 2 weeks, so you wouldnt even get anything for that week.

You will need to save some money during november & december to cover that week.

You can claim, but normally (varies by state) there is a waiting period. This could be used as your "waiting period" unless that requirement has already been achieved.
