A moral relativist is never 'fair minded'. They use this standard to excuse immoral behavior.

Yes, it is important to consider all sides while determining your moral standards in life.

For instance the God of the old Testament felt morally justified in erasing the Hittites from the face of the earth, because of the actions of one Hittite woman.

If you are Jewish, or a believer, you might agree that this is OK, but as a Gentile living during those times, you would most likely believe the behavior to be incredibly immoral.

So we as humans must consider all sides, and determine what is really good for mankind, and what is harmful to mankind. That includes all races and genders, not just your favorite ones.

Yes, you can see another's perspective... it doesn't mean you must agree with it.

I know morals are relative... that doesn't change the fact that I'm repulsed by the news today - where Iran is proudly declaring that gays should be killed on the spot.

That kind of attitude is Biblical (yes, as in Christian)... but luckily morals are relative and we have adapted and "grown up"... no longer listening to the Old Testament... we have rationalized the Bible into a modern interpretation that fits our culture.
