I am shopping for a digital camera? what do I look for in buying a camera. Higher pixels? I want something fast and can take picture after picture and you don't have to wait 20secs to take the next picture. Also with no delay. Any advice would help?

Shutter lag - the delay between taking pictures - is common with digicams. Some are better than others so you'll have to do a detailed search and read a lot of reviews.

One trick is to take your picture and then depress the shutter button half-way so the camera can pre-focus and then take the shot.

The only way to completely eliminate shutter lag is by stepping up to a DSLR. Sony, Pentax, Nikon, Sigma and Canon all offer reasonably priced entry-level models.
