If humanity could have one shared trait, I'd like it to be compassion. I know if I paused a little more often, and considered how my words or actions would effect others, the world would be that much better.

I suppose I am only in control of one human, so let me see how that works with me.

This is a tough one as you ask for one. So I'll pick one.

Lev 19:16 - You shall not be a gossipmonger among your people, you shall not stand aside while your brother's blood is shed. (in other words, don't listen to gossip)

17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart; you shall reprove your fellow and do not bear a sin because of him.
18. You shall not take revenge and you shall not bear a grudge agsinst the members of your people; you shall love your brother as yourself.

Notice, loving your brother has NOTHING to do with feeding the hungry, etc. It has to do with not gossiping and correcting those who do. Not surprising Hillel picked it as one of the top commandments and said everything else was commentary.

Forgivness - Live and let live, turn the other cheek, he who is without sin cast the first stone, yada yada, ect ect. It is the hardest thing for most humans to forgive and not hold a grudge.
