The whole free-will concept according to Christian doctrine is a mine-field of contradictions and raises more concerns and issues than can be addressed.
I still have never really been given ANY conclusive answer that makes sense about freewill, past, present and future.
Try to wrap your mind around the whole Christian deal that:
1. God already KNEW Adam and Eve would sin but let it happen anyway, knowing it would result in immense human suffering and loss of souls to eternal torment forever (as his solution of Christ's sacrifice would really only appeal to a few of mankind) so basically his entire human creation is one big failure as BILLIONS were just created to suffer forever.
2. Freewill cannot actually BE freewill if it is made under duress either because of threat of punishment or expectation of reward. The CORRECT definition of freewill is not just CHOICE but FREEDOM to choose FREELY. If I as a parent tell my child, "Love me or else I will burn your hand off!" I have not given my child FREEDOM to choose FREELY. Their love for me is not unconditional but forced.
3. There can be no freewill in either heaven or hell. If you are in a state of PERPETUAL reward and bliss or in a state of PERPETUAL punishment and dispair, then somehow, you have lost the ability to be a soul that can think independently, learn, adapt and grow from what you are experiencing and make NEW choices. So in a way, both heaven and hell are equally unappealing.

You will have a free will in heaven. But you will have a glorified body. A glorified body only desires the things of heaven. Your fleshly desires will be gone.Satan will be gone. It is like going from the ghetto to a mansion. You will still have responsibilities. But the crime will be gone. The hunger will be gone. The desperation will be gone. The sadness will be gone. The frustration will be gone. Now let me blow your mind. If you have asked Jesus into your heart He has brought heaven with Him. You can experience heaven right now. When Jesus taught the disciple's to pray He said,'...thy kingdom come, thy will be done,in earth as it is in heaven.' We live in an age which is like an evil bubble. Jesus will return to lock satan away for a 1000 years(revelation). The bubble will burst. God's glory will be released in the earth to begin a restoration process. Please do not be frustrated about the things going on around you. Focus on Jesus. He said,'Seek you the righteousness of the kingdom of heaven and all these things will be added to you.'

Everyone that gets to heaven, only through the shed blood of Christ- will have no other choice, because the greatest thing that we can do is praise and worship Christ 24/7. There will be nothing else that we would want to do besides that. Without free will we would not have a chance to get into heaven, because we would not be given a choice. Have you ever thought of it this way?

You people must love finding all these loop holes which is nothing more than wasted words, time and energy. God doesn't allow sin in his kingdom. So your free will, will be based on sinless decisions when and if you get there. Let me tell you this so you can tell everyone else. God DOES NOT send people to hell, people send themselves. God is not responsible for the choices you make. You were warned what would happen, so it's not his fault you didn't listen.

First off "Free Will" is not the greatest gift! The gift is "EVERLASTING LIFE". that is what the sacrifice of Jesus's life gave us if we choose to accept it. We have free will to accept or not.
And sometimes when trying to reason things out that don't make sense to you you should study the bible to see if it is the way religion teaches or are you believing a falsehood.
Some will be heaven bound, some will live on the new earth perhaps you will be earth bound .

First, what makes you think that we give up our free will in heaven?
The pleasures of heaven - the unhindered presence of God - will be infinitely more attractive to us than any stupid carnal desire here on earth. We will freely and gladly choose the things of heaven. We have little idea how tainted and distorted our lives are here on earth.
Second, sex in itself is not sinful, rock and roll in itself is not sinful, and drugs in themselves are not sinful!
The problem is that we - with the devil's help -have distorted and twisted the things of this life so that something good and meant to be holy - like sex- is perverted and leads many to destruction.
See?
god bless

first of all sex is a gift from God to be used between two people after marriage. not before. i don't think all rock n roll is bad. there's some good bands out there like pillar, skillet, relient k, disciple, kj-52 is a good rapper, and if you like parodies try appologetix. and free will is what you have to choose if you want to go to heaven. you choose.

Only 144,000 people go to heaven.. and once there, they have a job of ruling as "priests and kings" with Christ.
Everyone else will be resurrected to life on a perfected planet. They will be taught accuracy about God and over a period of 1,000 years they will no longer be inclined to sin.
People are supposed to "control" their body and desires.
Everyone- even the angels- have free will to decide for themselves what they'll do. But people loving God will want to please him and they'll reject practices which God hates.

Lucifer fell when he was in Heaven. He had free will. So obviously free will exists in Heaven.
I don't know that anyone actually knows what life is like in Heaven. So it is hard to say what types of temptations we will have.

Consider this...the rewards that awaits you in heaven for using your free will properly here on earth are far greater and far more pleasurable than you can ever conceive such that you will never even have an inkling of a desire to part with it...free will or no.
