I am not sure if any modern c.c. units are vacuum operated anymore, so it is probably in the control module.

To test cruise, obtain a wiring diagram from local GM dealership. Then use a test light at the disconnected cruise module mounted on the firewall. With ignition on, test all switch inputs while someone uses them, one by one. This will tell you if you have a switch problem or it's the module.

Hello Shane V, I apologize that you are experiencing a concern with your Silverado’s cruise control. Are you interested in taking your vehicle to a local Chevrolet dealership for diagnosis? If you would like me to help assist you with working with the dealership, I would be more than happy to assist you while working with them. Please private message me your name, contact info, VIN, mileage and dealership you would like to work with. When you send your email, please include “ATTN GREG” in the subject line so that it gets delivered straight to me. Thank you very much for your time. I hope to hear from you soon. Gregory W.
