ok, what im really looking for is a classic-ish car that can be restored. V8 power, maybe a neglected stang or camaro.

Either the junkyard, those 10 for sale cars that have been sitting there for years on the side of the highway, or your local paper!

junkyards tend to be pricey on that stuff if they have them
not knowing where you are its hard to say but what i have done in similar situations take a ride out in the country and you will find one just sitting somewhere in a farmers field 9 times outa ten he be happy to get rid of it to a good home thatll fix it up
good luck to you

YOU WOULD BETTER OFF LOOKING IN YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER INSTEAD OF THE JUNKYARD BECAUSE MOST OF THE CARS IN THE JUNKYARD FROM THOSE YEARS WILL BE TOAST AND MAYBE YOU CAN GET LUCKY AND FIND ONE THAT SOMEONE HAS JUST SITTING IN THEIR GARAGE OR BARN.

GOOD LUCK

You can find such thing all day long on news paper classified ads.... 500 dollars or less for a car that moves. (but not much of anything else)
