Can anyone tell me if there are any viable options about? I dont really trust the ads I see online - so would be nice if someone could give me some feedback on some actual online work that can be done from home. Thanks

There is transcription work however, you need to be a fast typist (65wpm and higher) with good grammar. There are also many companies who hire people from home to do phone work and the jobs vary from customer service, order processing, answering service, telemarketing, tech support etc. There are writing jobs, companies may ask for you to submit articles to them on certain topics or companies will hire someone to write on their blogs. Also there are Virtual Assistant positions either you work for a company or you can start you own business and this job involves having a range of skills.

I have worked from home from 5 years. My first job was doing customer service/order processing and answering service type of work for a company. Now, I work for storage consulting business and I do quality assurance calls and phone audits. I have been with this company 7 months and love the job and my bosses. The company is small and located in another state and there is only a total of 4 of us.

If you go to my profile, the website listed has the jobs I mentioned above (and other types) and the companies that hire people to work from home (it is free).

It is possible to work from home you have to be careful of the scams online. Be weary of companies that ask for a fee, make sure you research them. I have never paid a fee to work from home. Be careful of ads stating high salaries and not asking for skills! Use different keyword when you search for jobs (work from home brings up many scams, very few legitimate companies use this). Some keywords to help you are: telecommute, telecommuting, virtual office, virtual work, independent contractor, home office-these keywords will keep the scams jobs out but will help to find more legitimate jobs and companies.

You and a lot of other people - this question gets asked by several people a day.

You are right to be suspicious of the ads online - most if not all of them are SCAMS - you'll pay some amount to "join" then never get anthing, or will get very little, in return.

There are several ways to make money at home. Taking care of kids whose parents both work outside the home is one. Another is selling things on ebay.

From there, it mostly depends on what skills and experience you have. If you have had a job in the past doing something that could reasonably be done at home, you might be able to find someone to hire you to do that same type of work now, from home.

Finally, a growing number of employers are allowing their employees to telecommute at least part of the time. This is often given to employees who have been working for them for quite awhile.

Good luck.

My wife and I work from home for a company that does not advertise. In fact, both my grandmothers have been a part of this company for over 25 years. 2 years ago, the owner of bought this company that has been around for over 50 years after spending over 23 million dollars of his own money researching and looking for a company that would be his last and final project. See, he has already taken 5 different companies and built them from nothing into billion dollar companies. It is exciting to see the potential and how much he has done already. There are many different avenues you can choose when it comes to how you choose to operate at home, which really helps you tailor your work to fit your particular situation and you can change up anytime you want. The greatest part of the company is how much it cares about you.

Please let us know if this helped - email us (by going to our profile) if you want to learn more.

I personally stay at home with 2 of my 4 kids.I am able to do this because of the company I work with. I searched for a long time and actually got scammed really bad by a company and swore off WAH for good. That's until a friend of mine introduced me to this company. If you would like more info, email me. Good luck either way!

Thanks Raja, I read the site, but although it talks the talk, it does not give the reader any more tips on the right job to take.

I know there are adds on the page, but they are by google, and really not recommendations by the writer, just good sense about how to work at home.

Does anyone have a real job opportunity out there or are they all just scams?
