Depends on the ages. As you get old, the age gap can be larger. But if you are younger, try to keep it closer to your age. It's all about maturity really.

Yes and no. It does depend on the level of maturity and the interests shared between the two people. Most people do not reach a real level of maturity until they are about 25 - 30; some never do. lol. If someone is 16 and the other is 30 then yes age matters. If someone is 18 and the other person is 40; it might be legal but some people are going to question it. As long as it is legal and two people love each other who cares.

I think when you are younger, yes it does. If you are 16 or even 18 and trying to have a relationship with someone who is 21 or 22....you are going to run into problems. Both people are at different places in their life. The younger is just starting to think about the future, while the future is here for the 22 year old. They are starting their jobs and graduating college....Also, the fact that the 22 y/o is able to go to the bar and the younger one isn't, may impose a problem.

As you get older, the age difference starts to take a backseat. My boyfriend is 30, I am 23. But we are at the same points in our life. We both have careers started and are not the bar hoppers that we both once were...We are established and have the same values/morals/beliefs.

It does, depending on your laws in your state/county. And in reality, it does as well, depending on your maturity level. Some people are really mature, at a really young age. Other times, age doesn't matter, because the couple knows about certain consequences and they accept whatever challenges them.

So I'm pretty much canceling out my words. Try looking for someone that has a high maturity level, or matched with your own. That's what matters (besides what your state may say, with sex depending on the answer).

Yes it does. Depending on the age difference. The more mature person usually controls the relationship. The younger person may be attracted to the older person and that older person may care about the younger person, but maturity plays a big part in a relationship be it man or woman. The one with the most experience has the control.

Age only matters if one of the partners is younger than 18 years old.

Dear Secret V:

AGE as focus?

Probably NO~
(the way you are asking it)

What matters?
How "old" your BRAIN is!
How much experience one has!
Maturity, People skills, Confidence etc.
Establishing a Realistic Marketable Job Skill~
should be a FOCUS for a bright future!

Our brains do NOT fully develope until we are
OVER 25 yrs. old! Until then, most people are
little "girly-girls" & shallow, insecure little boys~
who want their mommies!

With time, men find they prefer women who~
"think-young" & have establish a positive
perception of themselves.

Focus on yourself & be the best you can be!
SCREW AGE! Meet & date many to gain exp!

Have Fun~
Happy Trails

To an extent. If you're dating someone much older than you, you'll want to make sure your values and desires are the same. (If you're dating a woman who's 40 and you're 20, she may want a baby ASAP because it's getting close to the time when she may not be able to have one, so you'd better be of the same mindset. Or if you're dating a guy who's 40 and you're 20, and you want kids someday, recognize that "someday" may come sooner than you want - or he may not be interested at all.)

As long as both parties are of legal age, it doesn't matter at all.
