Geneses 17:1-16
“17:10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised”
Can someone explained to me please. If God is so immutable (unchangeable) as most Christians are trying to portrait him, than how come circumcision is not necessary for Christians?
When people bring the argument that Jesus fulfill the law or anything similar to that they are misleading others. Covenant is not a law. There is a huge difference between law and what god promised.
As far as we can see, few thousand years before Jesus even showed up in the picture god makes promise to Abraham. And as anyone who reads Geneses can see that god did not asked anything in return from Abraham and his future children’s except circumcision for this covenant. Whatever law Jewish people create in the name of god later on has nothing to do with this covenant.

. Many Christians today are crying that Jews murder their own god and God broke covenant with them. So to outline the Question… If god makes the promise and than for whatever reason he decides not to keep the promise does it still makes god immutable? Isn’t that a scary thought that whatever god promised to Christians he will change again in the future? (Just cause someone will come up with another interpretation?)
When answering this questions please look at what god promised to Abraham. Any personal convenient interpretation … what they would like… not of an interest.

INterestingly enough that poeple trying to say Jesus established new covenant. Funny. Can anyone show me in the bible where Jesus ( not Paul , or other scribes who could not even read ) says that Original covenant is no longer in place? It's funny that most Christians thinks that whole bible is correct but manage only pick certain parts.
Personaly i don't support any religions but interesting in the subject.

God does not exist so I am not concerned with any of these questions. Our lives would be easier if people did not allow a non existent God to interfere or wage war in his name, claiming he is on their side, just as their enemy does!!!
Organised religion is about social control, which has been broken here in the UK by good education and reason.

Circumcision was a sign of the covenant between God and the Jews. However, when Jesus died on the cross, it made it so that everyone could come to Christ and the Old law was done away with. So, today, we do not need circumcision because anyone can come to Christ, not just the Jews.
Please read the book of Hebrews, Acts 15, Galatians 5:6 and I Corinthians 7:19.
God also told Abraham, as part of God's covenant with Abraham, that he would have many descendants and that they would be God's people, but in order for them to continue being his people, they had to obey, which they did not do. Thus, the Jews broke the covenant.

God's Word is immutable.
He will be faithful to fulfill His covenant to Abraham, and passed on to Isaac, and Jacob.
Do you think He is finished yet? Why?
The fact that the children of Jacob have been back in their homeland since only 1948 is proof that God is still at work, and will complete His promises to Abraham.
...and part of that covenant is that the children of Ishmael shall be a large nation themselves.

LOL Ok 2 things here! First is God and Christ. God is a God of the law. He will not change, can not change! Man will be judged by the Law. Every sin you do, is your sin. If you accept Christ in truth, your sins all of them are his sins, he takes them, you then have no sin against the law, before God you can stand! And by the Law you are sinless before God. Second: Rom 8 30 Moreover whom he did predesignate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. there is a difference between predesignate, and predestination! There is no predestination! A few have be chosen, this is a hint of a time before man was made flesh, that God found very great favor in. A few have been sprinkled through history, Abraham, Joseph, Peter, Paul, Moses, some others. In the end times there are coming 144,000 that have been chosen from before, predestined, who are destined for heaven! It is also to be noted that it is these 144,000 that are the only ones that can, are capable of, committing the unforgivable sin! So still these 144,000 still have free will, and can, are capable, of entering, not only hell, but the lake of fire!

The 'old system' as the previous answerer calls it, was not 'done away with'.
Jesus was born a Jew, he lived as a practising Jew, and he died a Jew when the Romans crucified him. Successive popes have even reminded the Christian worldwide community of this, in an effort to counter the way in which the NT villifies Jews.
As for what you say about 'Christians crying' over the way we Jews worship - get over yourself! We don't spend time endlessly debating and dissecting your faith, so kindly show us the same respect!
The NT was written long after the death of Jesus, and primarily by people who never even met him! You might want to consider that fact before you start declaring that Judaism is false.

Jesus Christ brought a new Covenant...the Covenant of His Blood. For all who believe on him.
The Jews rejected Jesus Christ and held fast to the first Covenant, the one brought by Moses.
But you know....you must know by now...that Jews stopped practicing the true rules of Moses many years ago. Centuries ago.
Jews do not even do that old Testament stuff anymore.

Circumcision was the physical sign of being a Jew by blood.
It was also a sign of the covenant between God & man.
However, when Christ came......the old system was done away with. The covenant of redemption had been fulfilled at the cross & at the resurrection.
Praise God!

Because Christians are not part of those who are 'among you'. this covenant refers only to Abraham, his descendants and his household. Christians, most of whom are descended from pagan converts and who claims to no longer be under the law are not bound by this covenant. Hence, no required circumcision.

This covenant was made during the law. It was no longer necessary after the new covenant was made with Jesus.

That's what happens when you have a bunch of guys translating text that a bunch of other guys wrote down centuries beforehand. Like no one added something that they said was "revealed" to them, but was actually something they just wanted in a text that was considered law...man just isn't that honest as a being.
