Christians believe in things that are right and wrong..good and evil...so they are usually called close-minded; because they will not accept sin as being alright...so yes true believers are close-minded about certain things...

Any firm belief tends to make us close-minded. That's not always bad.

For instance (not my example; it's from C.S. Lewis), you have a firm belief that your spouse is a good person. If someone tells you he or she did something terrible, you would rightly be close-minded about it -- you wouldn't say, "Oh, really, I wonder if it's true?"

If you've decided that magic doesn't exist, a friend who tells you it does exist isn't going to get an open-minded hearing.

There are people who go through their whole lives being open-minded about everything, and they can be pretty pathetic.

no, it's the other way round.
close minded people take religion as a shelter to hide their defects.
religion is open minded and encourages believers to have knowledge and gain experience from life.

It depends entirely on THE INDIVIDUAL. i can only speak for myself. I understand that people come from different walks of life so who am i to undermine anyone elses religious beliefs or way of life just because im so strong about mine? I'm very open-minded.

Actually, I believe it makes us more OPEN minded. We accept people for what they are, although we choose to attempt to present God's Word to them.

Non-believers on the other hand tend to follow the ways of the world and don;'t want to hear anything else

It certainly seems to do this to many of them.

It's undoubtedly more comfortable, more safe, to be able to think of a world free of awkward things like homosexuality, drug use, sex, and other carnal pleasures.

As a result, for some it's probably more desirable to keep themselves cloistered within the boundaries of their religious doctrine rather than enjoy the bounties of life.

Their loss!

It depends upon the believer and the subject.
