I used to be a vegetarian but now find I cannot tolerate any produce that has not been cooked. The pain is excruciating and I am ill for 2 - 3 days after eating the raw fruit or veggies. I have undergone every test imaginable but no doctors can tell me what is wrong - does anyone have a similar experience or has anyone ever heard of this? Thanks for your time.

Drink 2 ounces of Mona Vie on an empty stomach in the morning and before bed. This 100% fruit juice from the Amazon rain forest is wonderful for digestive tract problems. Give it a week and I'm sure you will be fine. If Mona Vie is not accessible or too pricey, you can get Acai juice at the grocery store in the natural juice section. Bolthouse makes the best. This juice really works to regulate your digestion.

It is not a true allergy, if you can eat the food cooked...

There are some fruits I can not eat due to alcohol content. Fresh pineapple and some types of ripe apples... left over/day old fruit salad.

For years I could not eat cantaloupe without having very bad cramps ...now I can. ???

If you dare try eating a small portion of a fruit or veggies that bothers you with some real avocado... This fat somehow makes some foods like spinach and broccoli more digestible. See if this helps the problem.

Have you tried a product like Bean No or Di-Gel... as we get older "gas" can be painful.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

I used to be allergic to nearly all raw fruits and vegetables. However, they made me break out in a rash, even if I just touched the food and did not swallow it. Watermelon used to give me a stomachache, and my whole esophagus felt like it itched. After being on allergy desensitation shots for my pollen allergies for five years, my allergy to raw fruits and vegetables went away! Now I can even get the juice on my hands without breaking out in a rash. I can eat salad for the first time in my life.

If it was ordinary intestinal gas, it would be gone within 24 hours as your system gets rid of the culprit food. You may have a restriction or blockage in your intestine, which can be aggravated by dietary fibre (broken down by cooking). You may want to test it with other high fibre foods (though I wouldn't blame you for wanting to avoid 2-3 days pain). I suggest you see a doctor.

Yes, I have similar experiences. I have come to believe that I must not have much of the enzymes that are needed to break raw fruits and vegetables down. I can get away with salads as long as I take my time and chew them thoroughly. I suggest that you cook them and not consider it a problem.

Maybe it's because you use to eat so much earlier in your life that your body just cannot take it anymore. The body does very strange things. Like when I was younger I could handle hard liquor and drink all night long, but now my stomach just cannot handle it. I wasn't a drunk or anything, once or twice every 2 weeks. When your body handles so much of something at one time and you change your routine, it's able to change it's mind about what it will allow you to eat. That's just my opinion though.

Hopefully you would loose some weight but that would not be really good ,because you would be very tired , you need to eat some meat otherwise you won't get protein and to do sports you need lots of protein so I would suggest you to eat lots of fruit and drink water and tea but eat some other food too , even if we are talking about 2 weeks:P

I get those pains when combining green apples then drinking water. It causes awful gas like pains. If you are net getting the pains if the produce has been cooked then that is probably all it it is.
