Here's a question that should give those that say Jesus was nothing but a con man who fooled the people with magic tricks etc. some food for thought. If that is all Jesus was... a really good con man ... why did the Pharisees and Saducees not fight to expose him instead of arranging to have him executed?
If you read the Gospel accounts, the religious leaders practically stalked Jesus and his band of disciples. Why didn't they come up with proof that they were charlatans... cons ... and expose them to the people for what they were. Instead they had him killed, making him more "dangerous" in death as a martyr than he ever was alive. Does that make any sense?

Gibbon?: There might be a "magician's code". All that means is that if there were other magicians around they'd keep their mouth shut. I'm talking about Jesus' sworn enemies. Those who decided to put him to death because he was a threat to their way of life. Rather than go on a mission to expose him as a fraud, which would have done THEM a whole lot more good, they killed him, thereby "shooting themselves in the foot".
