I see you're new here. It won't take long for you to find out that only Christians "push their beliefs." Atheists are much more intelligent and are only trying to get us to use what limited brain power we were given.

Oops, did I say given? :-)

Atheists don't have beliefs. That's the whole point of being an athiest. We don't have a belief to push onto others. We have a non belief. And nor do we go around trying to force other people into our way of thinking. All the atheists I know, including myself, are very tolerant. It's only when you get a Christian mouthing off at us that we are forced to protect ourselves.

I would ask your question differently: Why do religious people like pushing their beliefs onto others? We atheists are out numbered - leave us alone! When a person very close to me died last year the last thing I wanted was a Christian vicar telling me she was going to Hell because she wasn't a christian, and that I should convert so I wouldn't go the same way.

Do you get atheists being like this? No!

Atheists that I know and have been around do not "push their beliefs" on anyone. In fact they respect others beliefs FAR MORE than those "of faith". If you are referring to their insistence upon others respecting their beliefs and the LAW, then you obviously have not met an atheist. It is the "faithful" that push their beliefs/faith on others!

When I read this was thinking for sure you were being sarcastic.
Im still hoping thats the case.
I Live a couple doors away from a Jehovahs witness church, I cant tell you the number of times our door gets rung at 9am in the morning.. Im almost tempted to go round theres and do it at 5am. Athiests are the group I believe least likely to push their beliefs because in my case for the large part I just dont have many to push onto others! Thats the point.

I can only speak for myself and a few that I have know and do know.

They are scared they are wrong, and that means if they are wrong they have to admit that they can not make it in this life on their own. Another reason is the hurts they have experience in personal life and they do not like to see the joy and freedom that people around them have. So they like to try to pull the others down, especially those that trust and believe in God. It takes them out of a comfort zone.

I thought that at first and then some of these friends that I have agreed. We are a pretty open bunch and talk a lot with respect to each others beliefs and can get down to so nitty gritty. I love my friends dearly and vice versa.

God Bless. Hope that helps.

I cannot believe you a man of the cloth can ask such a stupid question. The only people who push their beliefs are religious idiot like your self and those who knock on my door preaching their religious rubbish. On the other hand if you asked this question just to see what response you would get i hope you are pleased.By the way I am an atheist and i don't push my disbelief on others unless they knock on my door, then they deserve it.

Because they are human, and they think they are right.
Unlike christians, who are aliens and know they are right.
Just kidding.
I'm a christian, but, we all believe we are right, we can not know something for certain that we have never seen, therefor we cannot know 100% that there IS or ISN'T a God.
So there is some amount of belief in it regardless of which side you agree with.

Atheists believe they are right, and if you believed you were right, and saw someone you thought was wrong, and making a fool of themselves, wouldn't you try to help them?

Atheists and Christians do the same things, they just have different methods so it looks different.

I don't mind that Atheists do it, because as a Christian I do similar things.

Yes, all those big Atheist churches the bastards have; and the glossy TV shows with their atheivangelists; and the bastards who go around knocking on doors during dinner; and the bastards who hang around shopping centres yelling and screaming verses from the Atheist Book of the Damned through a crappy PA system, and handing out dopey leaflets; and the bastards who come on Y!A and say things like "BELIEVE what WE BELIEVE or when you DIE the NOTHING we believe in won't happen to you!!!"

Pushy atheist bastards.

why do christians like coming up to atheists telling them that they will be going to hell?
why does sonny perdue the gov. of georgia pray for rain?
why hasnt he done that earlier? why can't he just take action and physically do something about it?

i never push my beliefs on someone, it is not just atheists, it is the other way around as well, and you know that.

They don't force they ridicule or look down on people who do. Plus they don't have any beliefs. No belief in a religion, nor a belief in a god. And because of this they some how think that they must educate the foolish, theist. Not exactly pushing but reeducating. You should be grateful that they are helping you, fool.
