Sweetie, you are only 13 and your body is still changing from child to adult. You cannot rush nature...just make the best of the curves you have right now and wait until your body has fully matured before you start making changes. Your body will change a LOT over the next 3 years...hang in there!

Eating too much is going to only cause curves in the wrong direction! Eat a good balanced diet, don't overeat, stop eating when you are full. There probably isn't a thing that will make your periods start sooner than they are supposed to. They can be delayed, or stopped if you aren't eating a good diet or are exercising too much. Since you didn't say how tall you are, it's kind of hard to say if you are underweight, just right, or otherwise. Your body will go through many many changes before you finish growing - and then it will change some more. The best thing you can do for yourself, is eat well, exercise and get plenty of sleep. Sleep is so important for teens, make sure you are getting enough sleep. Periods are rarely every 28 or every 30 days when you first start . And yes, some people are just naturally thin, and when we put on a little weight, it feels like it goes to our stomach and we have rolls when we sit - unless you are really underweight, you probably will have rolls when you sit. I did - at 5'7" and 115 lbs. not much, but some. That was pretty skinny. Being slim or skinny doesn't mean you are in good physical shape, exercising to tone your muscles will help with the rolls. Also watch how you sit!

Things will usually happen when they are supposed to.

Don't eat more just to try to start your periods. It won't work, and in any case, you don't need periods yet. You're not ready to have a baby yet, so there's no problem in not having started to ovulate. At the age of 13 I was 84 pounds. I remember that because I too tried to eat more, for the same reason as you. I soon got bored with it as I wasn't gaining any curves and gave up. I got my first period at the age of 14 and 4 months. There isn't anything to kickstart your period. Just be patient. I promise you, it will happen when it's ready. At 13 I didn't even wear a bra, then suddenly I blossomed into having large boobs, even though I stayed skinny. Nature wants you to be thin at the moment, can't you see that? So eat healthily and forget about trying to bring on your periods.

You sound like you are healthy for your age. Your period will start when it starts and you can't rush it. Talk to your mom and if you have older sisters, talk to them about when they had their first period. How ever old they were when they started menstrating, is probably how old you will be when you start. Your body is going to change a great deal over the next few years, just continue to eat a healthy diet and avoid the junk food as much as possible. As to how your body is going to be shaped when you are finished growing, look to your female family members. Things like small waists, round bottoms and breast size tend to run in families.

Good Luck.

Exercise regularly and make sure you are getting enough water, vegetable servings, and protein servings. This should help your stomachaches. As for your period, it will show up on its own time. There's nothing you can do to change its arrival. However, you may want to visit your doctor for a checkup to make sure all is well with your stomach if the pain continues.

You are 13. Your body will change a lot in the next couple of years, and your breast will surely grow. If you eat more, you will only get fat. Let nature do the work, eat healthily, exercise and everything will be fine. Just wait and see.

I think maybe you can try more diary products like milk, cheese, egg white, etc. if you can stand them. All the best!
