The question was about prostitutes. The claim, that serial killers specifically hate their mothers is lame. If that were true then they would kill mothers, starting with their own.

PROSTITUTES ARE AN EASY TARGET. THEY WOULD MOVE FROM SEATTLE TO ALASKA TO CALIFORNIA AND IT WAS NORMAL FOR THEM TO BE GONE FROM AN AREA THEY HAD WORKED FOR YEARS AND MOVE ON AS THEY PLEASED. THIS THEORY OF THE NOMADIC IS WHAT MANY FEEL IS THE REASON MANY PROSTITUTES WERE KILLED.
SOME KILLED THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE CONSIDERED DIRTY WOMEN. NOT WORTHY OF LIVING.
THE THEORIES CAN GO ON AND NONE CAN BE DISPUTED OR REALLY AFFIRMED AS TO A REAL WHY.

I personally think its because they hate women (their mother,usually) and prostitutes normally do not have too much contact with family or old friends. They can be missing a while and no one would really know it.
