As Turkish people move to Europe now in large numbers they bring their culture with them. There is a scary increase in forced "suicides” of women in the primitive belief that it "protects the family’s honour". This is an alternative method of “honour" killing. In reality if Turkey is accepted into the EU we must accept this as a part of European "culture", it shows no signs of being easily stamped out

Of course they are not all suicides. this stinks of a cover up. When they establish a big EU and UK presence our culture will have changed a lot

They will probably turn a blind eye to it, as they seem to in other areas where they should be making changes.
Honour killings have no place in our society. Neither does any culture which supports it.

There's no way Britain or the EU will accept honour killings.
At the moment, it looks unlikely that Turkey will become part of the EU; partly because Turkey would have to change it's economic and human rights policy to conform and it may not wish to do so, and partly because a few EU countries don't want loads of Turkish immigrants (or loads of immigrants from anywhere, come to that). If Turkey were to join the EU, it would have to implement the human rights act and protect the lives of these women.

The story as reported by the Independent (in the link you provided) suggests that honour killings have become unacceptable, and that Turkey has been revising it's legal codes in order to make them more acceptable, and by some definitions more liberal, to the EU.
It is also pointed out that, although an investigation was mounted, no hard evidence of honour suicides has been found. The implication is that, if honour suicides are indeed occurring, these are events that happen behind closed doors - therefore the perpetrators themselves are fearful of being discovered.
On a personal level I find it hard to believe that in Turkey, the most progressive of Muslim nations, anything along the lines of honour killings or suicides are widely accepted.

Well, one could just as well hope that our culture will rub off on them and this nonsense about honour killings will decrease.
The odds of it going either way are 50/50. Besides, not every Turkish family believes in honour killings. The types of people that this article is talking about are the uneducated, religious nuts from the "Hinterland" of Turkey.
I have Turks in my family and I've been there. In the cities, the people are not much different from us in the west. Go to the backwoods of America and you'll find people who dance with snakes until they're bitten or those clowns who practice polygamy illegally. That doesn't mean that the majority of the people are like that.
Looks to me like the authors of the article are trying to turn a mouse into an elephant.

Turkey will be accepted. Especially by the UK, for fear of upsetting the PC Gestapo. Many of these suicides will continue and very few will be reported. And yes, if Turkey is Europe, then this will be part of European culture. Swept under the carpet.

Excuse me? Im sure 99.9% of muslims in the UK are against honour killings Its a disgrace. So you judge a religion according to cultures and the people following it? Wow. You are an idiot.

First the people of Britain will have no say in the matter. Our government have decided we cannot have a referendum on the EEC so our voice cannot be heard. Our leader SS Brown says he knows what we want without it. he as his predecessor is a Pratt. The best thing GB can do is get out of this corrupt alliance.

I hope not, but they will get away with it because of the PC brigade.
I would like to add this backward, twisted brand of justice has nothing to do with honour, everything to do with pride.
When will people accept that muslim culture and western culture have always been and will always be incompatible.

So do you think that there will be less abuse of women if people are forced to remain living in Turkey? If you really care about Turkish women, you would support their right to move to countries where they have better economic prospects and enjoy more protection fro the law.
Otherwise, you are just using the plight of abused women to bash immigrants.
