I'm getting a headache over this kind of stuff. Seriously, I learned all about evolution, natural selection, and all that stuff in school. I learned about creation at church. It was fine and everyone was happy.
What changed? This is silly.

Not all religions clash with science. Those that do have gotten more vocal in recent years, however. I think it's a last ditch attempt before they recognize that they are a fringe group with no credibility. I really don't take the creationists very seriously EXCEPT when they attempt to interfere in things that disprove their beliefs. Museums contain much that is strictly incompatible with young-earth creationists, so I understand why they are protesting. However, the sooner they face the truth, the better off we will all be. We are all really, really tired of it.

Methods that are used to prove evolution have one pitfall, they cannot determine beyond a doubt that man has been around for millions of years and evolved from apes. On the other hand, Creationists cannot pinpoint exactly when living species began or how long the human race has been here. Arguments will continue and time and money will be wasted. It all comes down to speculation and should be called a stalemate.

I think it is silly also. I have never felt that science and religion should clash, but that is only my belief in my heart. Every time I hear about a new scientific discovery, I am totally impressed by the glory of God. It is so far beyond my comprehension, but I believe that our capacity to learn and discover is a gift from God. I have thanked Him repeatedly for allowing me to have the capacity to think critically.

Science is a tool to understand God´s creation, so the most responsible thing parents and gov. can do is to "channel" science for a good purpose in our individual and in our social lifes...science for the good, not for the bad...
but I guess then there would have to be some agreement bewtween religions to support this idea. At least islam doesnt clash with science at all..and remember evolution is just a theory, and unfortunately it promotes racism..so u have to consider many perspective in order to give science an application...

Religion is based on the beliefs and understanding of those who lived thousands of years ago. Science continues to discover new knowledge and understanding that sometimes conflict with religious beliefs. Can religion discover an answer should science ask, Who did Adam & Eve's children have children with?

Evangelism changed. It has gotten bigger as a group and has mingled in with politics and is seriously starting to look like it wants to turn the US into a Theocracy of its own making. It's ironic really, they claim their God gives "free will", or at least, the freedom to choose... yet they seek to take that away from everyone in "his name". But the major Evangelists have denounced Science. HOW they can do this while still using the technology and medicine that has come from Science is beyond me. But I guess they view Evolution as a direct attack on their beliefs. Which, to me, is ridiculous. If they were truly that strong in their beliefs, they would honestly read up on Evolution... instead they attack their straw man. they claim Evolution states something it doesn't and then attacks it viciously, while the rest of the world who has read about Evolution is looking on saying "WTF are they doing?" Ever watch Fight Club? The part where he's fighting himself in a parking lot? that's what it looks like.

Science is the investigation of physical reality. Religion is the investigation of spiritual reality. Both are based on the belief that there is an underlying order in physical and spiritual reality which can be discovered. They inform each other about the truth of all reality.

Religion is belief and faith. Science is fact. There is a part of science that is theory. In my humble opinion Christians should not be upset with atheists who worship science and atheists should not be uspet with Christians having faith.
As a pagan I am not upset with the atheist thinking me weird and silly for following my religion. That is their right not to accept my faith. It is a personal choice.
I am not upset with the Christian for worshipping Christ.
