However, I say that even though this verse has virtually no support among the early Greek manuscripts, it is found in Latin manuscripts.

The anti-Christ spirit is what's at work among the world today as much as ever is what gives and where the false accusation comes from to decieve many. So many deny that Jesus came in the flesh, Emmanuel, God with us, and that all power in heaven and earth was/is vested in his hands. Many do not understand that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost agree in one. There is one God and He has seven spirits. I suppose that will confuse you even more about the deep things of God. That doesn't make Him many Gods. Anyone knows that the son is the heir and that an heir is equal to the Father. It takes a spiritual re-born Christian to understand the truth and still we can't understand all mysteries but we do know that Christ wants us to be one in Him as He is with the Father. Christ has one Bride and the church of untold numbers comprise the Bride of Christ. In marriage a man and woman become one yet they remain two individuals and can both be one in Christ. The world is blinded because they refuse the Light of the world, Jesus Christ, sent by God and whom God bore witness of through His Spirit. God gives wisdom to those who seek Him.

The biggest irony is that pseudo-Christian groups that attack orthodox Christian teaching on the Trinity have more than one God/god themselves! The Mormons try to pretend they believe the Trinity whilst they believe good Mormons will become gods of their own planets, reproducing its population who will worship them! They also say Jesus is no more god than his brother, Satan, is. And that the god of planet Earth was begotten by another god. Mormonism is utterly pagan.

The Jehovah's Witnesses also have the Almighty God, Jehovah, and their mighty god, Jesus who is supposedly created. That's a Big God and a demi-god. They are in such a muddle with this, though, they insist they don't worship Jesus. They just honor and obey him. Well, that means Jesus cannot even be called 'a god' with a small 'g'! Deity is revered and worshipped. If they just honor and obey Christ they no more worship him than they do their parents! So, it's a bit rich these groups criticizing Trinitarians when they are polytheists themselves and their attacks show they have failed to grasp the nuances of the Trinity doctrine.

These cults doctrine of pantheism (everything that has life is god/nature is god) is so dangerous for them because the moment nature is destroyed then god also is destroyed. They cannot have a God-Savior in the person of Jesus Christ in the Bible. And so, they will also be destroyed along with their gods. The doctrine of Trinity is not "One God and Three Gods" nor "Three Persons and One Person". The doctrine of Trinity is that "There is only One God manifested in Three Person. The trinity is a very difficult concept for most people. A psychologist friend said the closest she could get is to call the Godhead a "multiple personality"--three defined aspects of one person. Just as a man can be his father's son, his own son's father, and his wife's husband--and yet he is one person, who shows the different aspects of himself to these different people according to his function in each relationship.

Most people who slag off the Trinity by saying it's "polytheistic" are looking for an excuse to reject Christianity.

The Jewish people had at one time dealt in Idolatry and that they stopped that as quickly as they back from Babylonian Exile. Jews have with the aid of no ability standard the Trinity doctrine, and rightly so. Maybe it's because the concept of a trinity itself was taken from polytheistic religions?

Still waiting for that modern 1x1x1=1 scripture, Nina. I want to show it to my former Catechism teacher to use in her classes. She still uses the outdated 1+1+1=1 one.

I wonder why people still use 1 John 5:7 when that scripture isn't found in the original text.

Anyway, those who say that there are many gods are only quoting what the Bible says. The Bible refers to Satan as god and it also refers to humans and Angels as gods. So if you're saying those who believe in those gods, then you're basically saying the Bible is polytheistic. The fact is, god and God are not the same deity, nor are they the same time.. A god means someone who is godlike, or a divine creature.. a God is someone who is almighty.

The Nicene Creed is very confusing in regards to the nature of God. It's small wonder people think Christians are polytheists.

Three Beings - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - all forming a single God? Only by jumping through hoops can you call that monotheism.

Hello,

Take a shamrock to these people to explain the trinity. It worked for St. Patrick in converting a pagan king in 5th century Ireland.

Cheers,
