My friend has Recurrent Tonsillitis that occurs at least 3 times a year.
When it happens she gets Acute tonsillitis: characterized by a sudden sore throat, difficult or painful swallowing, tender lymph nodes in the jaw and neck, and, occasional airway obstruction.
Her doctor suggested tonsillectomy but she is apprehensive about it and would like to find out more about alternative permanent cures (if there are any)..
Many thanks in advance for your advice! ^,^)/

If a type of virus / bacteria is responsible for Tonsillitis, what makes some people more susceptible to Tonsillitis than others (given that two people live in the same environment and have a more or less similar diet)?are there any hereditary factors that influence one's susceptibility to Tonsillitis? =P
