i would have a word with her and say if your having trouble paying for "important" things then ill take the puppy back and give him to someone who can pay for vet bills!

Ofcorse you've done the right thing, not many people would have put so much money time and effort into rescueing - the new owner is the problem. She's obviously not going to take your proper insurance so if anything does go wrong either the puppy gets put down or you have to foot the bill. As someone already said, tell her that you were told what she said and you're concerned because you've had experience with how much dogs cost. Maybe slip in a little list of monthly/yearly costs and see if she'd like you to take the puppy back in a week or so untill you find a new owner because like you said it wouldn't be safe to keep him at yours with your current dog.

Right. I'm sorry, but if you're working 11 hours a day, and can't afford to have a petsitter take care of your dog when you're gone, there isn't enough of you to go around. If you need some dog time, perhaps you could either find someone in the neighborhood who needs their dog walked when you are home, or you could go walk the dogs at the local shelter. By walking the shelter dogs, you would be getting some contact time for yourself, while also making the dogs more adoptable. Sometimes the best thing IS to realize you've made a mistake, and make it right. Contact the Corgi rescue, and have them take her into their program. You're doing the right thing.

Well, it's good you got the pup away from a byb, but I would take the dog from the new owner if she can't afford to take care of it. You can always find a new owner. If the lady can't afford to pay for worm tablets and flea treatment, how is she going to afford other vet care, like shots, food, toys, leash, collar, emergency care, etc.? No one should have a dog if they can't afford it. I would try to get the pup a new home.

First off I would let the new owner know that I heard the conversation and am concerned that this expense is not affordable for them. If they can't afford this, there is not way they will continue to give the puppy the veternarian care needed ongoing. Offer to take the animal back and hope they will give it up. If so, ask more questions of the next potential home and require them to sign a contract agreeing to give proper care and routine vaccinations. There are several rescues with adoption contracts on their website as well which could give you some ideas of what to ask and require.

If she can't afford that, be worried. Go and talk to her - tell her that if she really can't afford to care for the dog, you can't let her keep it. Tough if she's upset, she should be thinking of the welfare of the dog. If she thinks the dog is going to be taken off her, she may find she can afford it after all!

Worming and flea treatment costs more than £5.50 so I don't know where that figure comes from.

You need to get the dog back. That person c=should have thought about all the costs for a dog before taking him. You can't let the dog suffer because of this.

Get the dog back and rehome, again. There are applications out there from rescue groups that you can use to weed out applicants. I can also send you mine, though I am in the US and you might need to modify it to your liking, appropriately.

If she can't worming and flea treatment.. Then you choose the wrong home. Pay for it this time but tell her that she has to get her stuff together.

it sounds like she is taking major advantage of you, tell her that you are not responsible for the dog anymore she is, then offer to take the dog back. when she realizes your out she will either take responsibility or give the dog back to you so you can find it a proper home.
