What about the poor carrots and radishes that begin their fragile lives in a greenhouse, only to be painfully, and violently uprooted and transplanted out in a cold, dirty field...where as soon as they are at their peak of ripeness, they are harvested, stripped of their tops, and sold like mere human slaves were back in the day.
Oh! The humanity!!!

Well, the animals aren't actually born in a slaughterhouse, but onto factory "farms."
There are plenty of foods you can eat! Check out "The Vegetarian Meat and Potatoes Cookbook" by Robin Robertson for hearty meals you can make without meat.
Check out www.vegweb.com to find lots of recipes, some hearty, some not. There are also many resources for veg*ans.
And www.happycow.net nad www.vegdining.com will lead you to vegetarian restaurants all over the world.
For me, a good hearty meal is falafel and fries from a local falafel joint.

Vegatarians eat anything that does not contain meat: e.g. poultry or Fish. Neither the oil or fat from animals such as lard.
I'm glad u feel bad for the animals the other day I was goin to the libary at my communit college and I heard crying like someone in pain. And i asked my friend what that noise was and she told me that the saulter house was near by and that they were killing a calf to carry to the market. OMG I felt horrible.
I was so glad that I don't eat meat cuz I couldn't imagine having to eat that calf after it has been tourtured so horribly.

As a vegetarian I eat Pringles, chocolate cake and Pepsi mostly. Occasionally I'll have salad fixings with a little lettuce (very little) or a taco salad (minus the meat of course...and the lettuce). I'm just about as healthy as I was when I was eating McDonald's...but my conscience doesn't bother me as much.
You can still have just about everything you eat now...just minus the meat. Cheese pizza, lasagna, chili...you name it. You can add meat substitutes (I don't) or not. You won't starve, and you won't faint!
And yah...it does break my heart thinking about those poor lil babes born into a life of torture just to end up on some guy's Big Mac. Life is sad and it's a strange, cruel world we live in.

You have just discovered that animals are killed for food?
You sound like a very kind person, so probably should be vegetarian for a while.

We eat what omni's eat- burritos, pizza, and pasta, only it doesn't contain blood, pus, sh*t, and steroids and didn't come from the horrific suffering of a sentient creature.

food is farmed to provide enough for the whole population. In the same way, a head of cabbage is grown specifically to be brutally ripped out from the earth and then ruthlessly chopped up with it's neighbor the poor, unfortunate murdered carrot to make your cole slaw. eating means death whether its an animal or a vegetable. that's the way it always was, is and ever will be.
