im 15 and whenever i say to guys on msn or in a txt that im off to have a shower they immediately go all gross and do a smiley and tell me to have fun and some even go to the extent of asking what i would do if they walked in on me...that happens a lot. but with my boyfriend i said to him that i wanted to have a shower and if i didnt reply to his txt for a while he knew why. i told him if he said anything of the sort that i would hurt him...but only joking and he then replied and said "haha i wouldnt dream of it"

is that somehow insulting me?

Not insulting at all. It just means that your boyfriend never wants you to hurt him but he said it in a bit of a joking way so that can be the reason why you misunderstood him. Just take it easy.

As for the boys saying gross when you say you're going to have a shower, why don't you say, " I got to go for a moment, be back in a few minutes". Or something along those lines and then just sign off. There's really no need in telling them that.

Well, the other guys are certainly acting quite immature and possibly chauvinistic. And those asking about your reaction if they walked in on you are just plain perverted. In fact, it could be more than insulting and border upon being a criminal act if it's that often. Sexual harassment and such. I'd advise you to be careful around those people, but I see that you're already quite careful so good on you! =)

And about your boyfriend? He's really sweet. If my beau were that leacherous I'd probably be quite uncomfortable with it (unless, of course, we are married =p ).

You could always just tell the other guys you'll be right back or got something to do. Saves a lot of hassle and sexual prodding.

First of all, don't mention that you'll be taking a shower in the first place. Say something like "brb" or what not. Men can be such immature kids especially men on the internet.

Second, since you mentioned it in a joking way, if your BFs known you for a while, treat it as a joke initially, but always be ready to talk when it concerns you too much.

So - having got that reaction once - you just keep on telling them you are about to take a shower. Perhaps you like the guys flirting with you. Don't be offended - you are giving these guys a fantasy image and they probably think that it is you who is doing the flirting. Next time - try telling them you are off for a Poo - see how that goes down.

Why are you setting yourself up to get insults? It seems like you are trying to get guys to say inappropriate things, because you mention that you are going to have a shower. Learn from your mistakes.
Of COURSE guys are going to say something sexy when you mention you are going to have a shower, you are giving them a very sexy image. If you don't want those kinds of comments, don't tell them about the shower, it's not their business why you are going off line.
Now you are hurt because your BF DIDN'T say something gross when you told him you would hurt him if you did? jeeze girl, do you even know what you want? How is he supposed to know? Stop fishing for insults.

Guys feel like they have to pretend to be ready for sex no matter what, any time, any where. So they take up every opportunity to make the little sexual joke. Boring. Feel sorry for them. I agree that you must like the attention. If not, don't mention that you're taking a shower -- do you mention it when you're going to do a breast exam? I think you're very silly.

Maybe you're very cute looking so your comments cause guys to say things that they shouldn't. There is a sexual connotation because of the idea for a man of taking a shower with a woman.

I would recommend you discontinue mentioning it, instead, simply say that you're off to take care of personal business. Which is also true, but doesn't give them ideas to fantasize about.

If you have a problem with guys commenting on you taking a shower or thinking about you in the shower, then maybe you shouldn't tell them. Thats my honest opinion.

It's actually kind of funny. . . because ten years from now. . .you'll love these comments and probably jump at the chance for a guy to join you. Trust me . . you will. Women when they are young are all pius and nicey nicey. However. . . as they get more exposed to the joys of sex. . . just like men do earlier in life. . . they love it. . crave it. . . and need to get it. You too will be a total hornrod someday . . . believe me you will. You also love the attention. . .that is why you keep telling these guys you're going to take a shower. You can't fool us. . . you are already morphing into a little hornrod!!
