During the first crusade, a band of religious hysterics marched behind a goose they believed was filled with the holy spirit. So what else do catholics do for fun?

Abby Hansen: I read it in a book called "This that and the other" by Mitchell Symons. And I can't judge all christians individually.

Well played Mystine G, but the bible also says the world is 6000 years old... Fiction, I belive! While the book I read has facts such as "When asked for a colour, three out of five people say red." Which is true!

I wonder if that is where the commander got it. During the Vietnam war there was a commander in Vietnam that had a pet duck and required everyone to salute it.

And your evidence for this "fact!?" is .... what exactly?
EDIT:
Don't get grumpy, child ... now that you have given a reference I shall check it out.
"Yelling that something is a fact does not make it so. In future, please have the good manners to give a reference without having to be asked.
EDIT 2:
"While the book I read has facts such as "When asked for a colour, three out of five people say red." Which is true!"
Sorry, but I had to laugh out loud when I read this! If this is the intellectual level of the books you read, child, then maybe it is time you asked permission to use the grown-up section.
EDIT 3:
"This, That and the Other" by Mitchell Symons

I do not recall hearing of this little gem. Could you provide some source material? Do you really judge all Catholics on the acts of a few? Now really...
One does not speak or stand for all so generalizing is foolish and so is judging all on the actions of a few. Although I thank you for the source material I will look into it.

Not all catholics have the same practices.
Some are good while some are not, which are shameful acts.
So don't imply to generalize a wrong act to all catholics.

Well i never heard about the goose, i didn't know aflac was there in the crusades.
It is a gross thing what many do in the name of religon and / or Jesus.
I guess they forgot the commandment to love your neighbor.

are you suggesting that god cannot fill a goose with the holy spirit? (he wouldn't be much of a god).
or that this goose was not so filled? (were you there?)
it is a lot easier to laugh at other people for doing ridiculous things, isn't it?

If it wasn't for that goose and Catholics (and non-Catholics by the way - if history serves me right), the world would be Islamic by now. So, thanks to them, you can be the ******** you are today. That means you are in our debt.
