There are all kinds of behaviors that might make this happen, but usually, the problem is with the dumper, not the dumpee. People who do not have it in themselves to continue with the kind of emotional work a long term relationship requires in general have not been motivated to end the relationsip by anything the dumpee has done---and unfortunately dumpees seem to always be asking themselves what they did wrong when the answer is usually nothing. It's important to grieve as long as you need to and don't listen to anyone who's saying you ought to "move on" since it's none of anyone's business how long you feel you have to grieve, but at the same time, don't go back to the guy if he's treated you like this. You deserve better---and don't keep torturing yourself looking for an explanation of things you did to cause this. It's his problem.

After having been married a looooonnnnngggg time. I can tell you that the amazing mushy love at the start wears off.

You must be friends and have the same values and common interests. Many bad habits or annoying behaviors can help kill it.

It is sad but it does happen.

Are you sure he was in "love" in the first place? We need to define "love" first.

Anyways, lots of people get into relationships and then change relationships. It is part of a growth progress whereas people socialize and learn from one another then move on and learn from someone new. It is about growth.

It is about not possessing anyone and people being free like in the 60s.

there is one line that slaughters a relationship's chance for the future and can even cut the engine on a perfectly good friendship: "lets...just...be...friends"

for some reason this line has a 90% success rate at snuffing out the fires of passion. scientists are still researching as to why this is but until then:
use it to your advantage.

honesty.

Hmm. If he wants to screw someone else. Then does it.
Then screws another girl. And another, and another.
Then tries to screw any other remotely attractive girl he befriends.

Signs include, increased secrecy, lack of affection, him starting random arguments over things that annoy him about you, keeping his phone glued to him, etc etc etc.

I speak from experience.
I hope you don't have to some day.

Just being the opposite of whatever she was when I fell for her. If she was nice and funny before, I'd be unattracted to her if she became mean and serious. Vice versa.

My ex said he fell out of love with me, but it was only a few months later that I discovered he was really interested in pursueing our friend's ex since they had recently split up.
