I have an 2005 Nissan Altima and have noted a recent drop in fuel econmy. It seems as if my ac compressor is coming on when I turn on the heat too. I noticed it after hearing it cycle off and, on . What could be wrong?

Compressor cycles after you turn defrost on and won't shut off until you manually switch the car off and cycle the key restart the car. This is normal operation. Engineers did that yo circulate compressor oil so they say. Nissan Technical bulliten# NTB-06-033 dated 04-07-06 "compressor runs even if it is cold outside" As for fuel economy lots of factors colder temps more fuel injected longer warm up's heavy foot?

well its said tht after two years get the ac coil checked so i would go for tht and also thrs a gas present in the ac i think this could also b a reason i mean it might be tht the gas in the compressor may have come to a lower point so get it refilled.

OR go for a radiator check.
