I am going for my yearly holidays from 8 to 18 december to the states. where do i leave my 2 dogs, 2 year old maltese and 2 month old maltese, both females, should i bring them to a dog hotel if there is such thing, relatives house( they have dogs too and are dog lovers), or leave them in my house with my maid taking care of it ( i trust my maid she is very experienced with dogs and loves them).

I would see if the maid would mind taking them into her home while you're away. If she loves the dogs then they have a familiar face and can visit your home perhaps.

If not, my second choice would be to stay with family. The dogs would still get plenty of attention.

My last resort would be a kennel. Especially for the 2 month old. It's just too risky that even though they do a great job keeping things clean, I'd still be worried. The baby's immune system isn't fully developed, she hasn't had all her vaccinations, and unless it's a daycamp type facility, I think dogs get lonely and depressed there.

Do some research on the kennels that are in your area. Despite what some of the people have answered, they are not bad!!! I am a supervisor at a kennel and I LOVE all of the animals in my care. We take super care of them. I'm not sure where people have boarded where they've gotten sick, pregnant, or abused, but I promise that is NOT typical. Most kennels require vaccination records and majority only board spayed or neutered. We board all breeds, spayed, neutered or not. RESEARCH!!! Also, visit the place, if they will not let you tour, don't use them. Take your dogs, see how they act, how they get along with the staff. If you are still worried about it, go with the other options. Personally, I would opt for the maid if you don't board, simply because the dogs would be most comfortable at home. Good luck.

My personal choice would only be leave them with a relative or even a very close friend that would take care of the dogs. Also if you trust your maid then you can leave them with her and they won't have to adjust to a new place. If they go to the dog hotel they can abuse them or the dogs can get pregnant i have had people come home with this happening to their dogs

You can do whatever you feel most comfortable with.
You could bring them to a relative...
Leave them with your maid...
Or there is such a thing as kennels that takes your pets for you...If you go that rout just look them up in the yellow pages...I'm not sure of where you are form so I can not give you any references...I would be careful though the kennels cause Dogs can catch things from them...like kennel cough...
I would rather leave them with someone I trusted...like a family member or friend...But it is up to you!!
Good Luck!!

I vote for relatives house. They will get more attention and will be in a home environment. --- the maid probably won't be at your house a lot. Dogs are not as much attached to a place as to people. And a Kennel can be very sterile and confining..except the brief times they let them out for a walk.

final I appeared, Petsmart is $40/evening for a canines. i became working 4 hundred miles from my living house for 7 months and that i mandatory somebody to guard my cat and canines. I employed a close by individual who called her business company "puppy Nanny". I merely had to pay $24/day and the puppy Nanny could walk the canines for quarter-hour. an afternoon, %. up my mail and take out my trash can to the decrease as quickly as a week. and she or he'd brush my cat and play together with her and the canines regular. i became a lot happier having somebody coming to my living house that became authorized and bonded then going to Petsmart. yet, that's me. sturdy success.

They would feel more secure staying in their home environment. If your maid is there a lot to give them lots of attention, it would be the best option.

ask your maid to move in for the duration of your holiday. This way the dogs stay in their own enviroment. 2 months is too young really to be changing its security blanket(home).
