RJF: You don' have to swallow Christianity (which includes the Name of Jesus Christ), then don't. You can choose what you want to bite in but the choice is yours if you want to swallow it I will keep on speaking about my Saviour and nothing in this World will ever be able to stop me. God says in His Word, "If Christ be for you, who can be against you" Nothing nobody will ever be able to do, will and can stop me.

Christy, Nobody can ever belittle anybody but by their own permission. The best way of defence is to attack so true.

To all that come against Jesus Christ, I must remind you that there is a void inside all humans that only Jesus Christ can fill. I will keep on sharing for the Love of Christ has been shed abroad in my heart.

The Bible says everytime I try to do do good evil is present. It also states that the carnal mind is against God. Those who attack Christians are actually attacking Christ. We have a responsibilty to love the good, evil, and those who are hateful toward Christians. We must pray for them and Love them inspite of those things that we see. We will reach some but not all by our Love.

John 13:35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

Incognito, keep sharing , keep loving and keep praying for the unlovable. God is changing hearts every day. His truth is marching on.

I feel harsh reaction come when another tries to oppose what they believe on others. One sec/cult/denomination/religion belittles and degrades another human just because they believe differently cases can cause others to defend in a harsh manner and not only that can drive the deeper away from what most religion believe is the only way. It is not because of the name Jesus it is because of the manner some Christians feel they can use his name to belittle others.

I think in many peoples lives religion is sometimes a tabu subject & you can some times touch on peoples nerves on this,

Many beliefs of all people feel they don't always want to talk about this because each person has their own views, & many a time arguments arise if another person doesn't believe in the same way of thinking of others..

Its a sad thing in many ways, we all live on the same planet, breath the same air & are trying to live our lives to the best of our abilities BUT Beliefs are another thing, just the same as Politics..

Now thats another sore subject in peoples lives too..

You either believe or you don't

It is because people cannot stand to hear the name of Jesus. When people hear Jesus it reminds them of their iniquities and makes them very uncomfortable. They feel a pang deep inside. Rather than acknowledge it, most people do not even know it is there anymore, unfortunately. And the bearer of this Holy name? Gets the brunt of the anger brought on by the uncomfortableness.

- Some (not by a long shot ALL) christians seem to have made it a sport to be as big a bigot as they can be; take the Phelpses for instance.

- Some of them seem quite reasonable, but aren't capable of intelligent debate, going into circle reasoning and/or claiming god's will if you ask them questions about their faith.
"The bible contains God's word" for instance - if you ask them how they know so certain, their reply is "Because the Bible says so", wich leads to the question "but how do you know it's true?" beeing answerred with "Because the Bible contains God's word."

It's the 'bad' christians - or, for that matter, people of any religion - that give the faith such a bad name.

No , I don't have to wonder about that at all, because the Word tells us that satan is the enemy of our soul. Therefore it is his job to bring us down in every way that he can.

People react that way because they get defensive - they're tired of having Christianity rammed down their throats against their will.

No its because we know the christian history and the modern debacle of christianity. We know that you guys are the Majoriy and blindly follow your leaders and support basing legislation on your opinions no matter who it hurts while at the same time presuming to be loving and all that. You seek to get the stamp of authority on your ridiculous primitive superstition and then seek to have it forced on our children. We are aware of what is meant by "Behold, I make all things new" (millions of deaths of those who didn't OBEY!)
Luckily nowadays it is a bit tougher for you all.

Maybe it's because some people don't believe in him and it seems like your shoving your beliefs down on them O_o?

I'd find it hard to believe if you'd get "harsh reactions" from believers or christians in general....
