they have just found out originally she did have eyebrows, but through the years with the painting being cleaned & restored each time they probably got washed away, Imagine if they were painted on very faintly in the first place & after years they would slowly disappear, hence they said at one point the restoration on her wasn't done very well..

Woman in that era shaved. Not only eyebrow but also the forehead almost to the top of their head. It made them look like they had this endless high forehead and people liked that. It was fashionable.

Mona Lisa, dose not have eyebrows because the mr. machine made it that way but he was mistaken it is ok cause it got fixed.
