Electrolysis, the removal of hair by destroying the hair roots with an electric current, is probably one of your best options. However, it can be pretty expensive- costing a few hundred dollars for just a small portion of your body- and you often have to go back for more treatments. This procedure is usually not covered by insurance, since it is a cosmetic operation and not a necessity, so be prepared to pay out of your own pocket.

Aside from electrolysis, there aren't really any "permanent" solutions. If the procedure would be too expensive, you can always try using hair removal products (Nair, Nads, etc.), or just go back to using your razor.

Hope this helped- good luck! :)

Electrolysis is the only proven permanent hair removal treatment. You will need to have it does by a professional, and it can take anywhere from 5-30 weekly treatments for complete depilation of an area. No chemicals are involved, just a fine probe or tweezer and an electric current.

Laser hair removal is also an option - it's faster, at five to ten treatments for an area, but more painful, and you will need a yearly touchup.

Waxing is a less expensive option, and over time (years), the hair will grow back finer. It also involves no chemicals, but is in no way permanent. You'll need to get waxed every 2-6 weeks, depending on your rate of growth.
