Like certain days......psych patients will check in stating that they are depressed,,,and other days nothing. Do you think someting with the planets, or some natural influence has something to do with this? Explain?

The moon has alot to do with our emotions. I actually get more antsy right before a full moon. I worked nights at a nursing home at one time, and the patients were very restless and noisy during the full moon. I'm not sure why tho. But do you ever notice people (kids in particular) are more rambuncious than normal when it's a really windy day?

Yeah, I work in operating theatre and also NICU and theings always run in 3's. Like 3 bowel babies come in, then 3 accidental amputation of fingers, 3 deaths, 3 NOF's, 3 major burns. It is wierd.....something is going on out there.

AND TO THE GUY WHO SAID IT WAS PATHETIC GOING TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR DEPRESSION - get some compassion - depression is often life threatening and serious. I hope whoever looks after you next time you go to hospital treats you with a little more kindness than you display!!!!!

No idea about this - other than a weather influence. Like, Seattle, with its rainy weather, has a higher rate of suicide than sunnier cities (I never remember where they compared Seattle to). Also, studies have shown that people are more likely to commit crimes, particularly violent ones, when it is very hot (because tempers flare more easily). Plus, there are cultural influences that affect almost the entire population, like how people are more suicidal following the holidays (not during the holidays, like most people think).

It is a proven thing that the change in tide can effect some people. The moon triggers some people. Have a full moon come out and watch the weirdos come out of the woodwork.

There was a thing on TV about the cycles of the moon and mental health patients, and that people commit more crimes during the full moon.

My ex husband is Bi-Polar, and from watching his brother, and him for several years, I can tell you that Bi-Polar is seasonally cyclic. Also depression can often be the same way. Many depressed people can go on a downhill slide just because it gets cloudy for a few days.

People go to the emergency room because they are depressed? Pathetic.
