Why are you asking for forgiveness, what have you done to incur this persons wrath if it was petty he should shine it on. If you are uncomfortable then maybe it is your own mind that is not forgiving you.

Forgiveness is usually asked for very serious things. For small matters just letting some know you're sorry is enough.

Inform the person you want to ask forgiveness from in advance that you want to talk. He will be mentally prepared that you will talk about that particular that and wont be taken by surprise. This way he will get enough time to deicde how he has to react and what he wants to say.

Talk to the person in detail. Let him know in what circumstances it was done and how bad you feel about it now. Listen to the person, even if he gets angry admit that you were wrong. After this ask for forgiveness from all your heart once. If he accepts it then all is good. If he persists on remaining angry then just let him know you're sorry and leave. I dont think you should even ask for it the second time. It can be irritating.

after the first time you ask them for it.

they know you want forgived.

if you keep nagging to them about it they'll only become more agitated and less likely to forgive you. let them forgive you in their own time.

the only exception to this is when either or both of you are near death, or the part of your life you were in is over.
what i mean by this is, you or them are on death bed. its safe to ask them if they have forgiven you.
by a particular time in your life being over i mean, you do something as a child in grade school and the person will not forgive you. you both grow up and then ask again. same holds true to other phases of life.

this is just my personal stance, the person you want forgiveness from might have a diferent opinion.

You asked once and they have not responded or said nothing, there's your sign to stop asking. Forgiveness sometimes takes time and it may never happen. Also, since you asked here, this confirms your suspicions too.

ask once, the rest is up to them. They will either forgive you or not, you can't make them forgive you.

depending on the seriousness of the reason for forgiveness. sounds as if someone has you hanging - accept that they won;t accept it and move on.

I make it a habit not to do anything that I would have to ask to be forgiven for. "Geaux Tigers"!!! Yeah!
