I have a friend thats a Wicca, and she hates Christians.

I think it is about how they burned them back in the day.

What do you think?

Nah, it's cool to hate Christians. That's why those guys are concentrating on Africa and India because people in poorer countries are easier to dupe nowadays than people in the west.

She probably hates Christians because that is where she was coming from when she found Wicca. It would the be the same if she converted to any other faith. She needs to get in a better way though. To hate such as she does not not Wiccan. Being Wiccan is much more than just saying you are. It's a path, like Buddhism or Shamanism. It's a way of life, not just something you say you are. It is something you do to become more peaceful within yourself, and when you have feelings like she does than there is no peace. You have to love and accept everyone, regardless of whether or not they love and accept you.

A great book for her to read, to help her discover this, is Wiccan Warrior: Walking a Spiritual Path in a Sometimes Hostile World by Kerr Cuhulain and Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham.

Not only do we learn from life as we move along, but the world as a whole learns from pass mistakes.

Examples.... Many many Christians were killed back in there day just after Christ for there belief, the same kind of killings of Wicca. Some of my family members were burned at the stake back in their day accused of witchcraft, but what they had was a gift...able to see and communicate to the other side.
They burned and killed everything that they didn't understand in the pass..... they don't do that anymore, in time we all learn like the world did as a whole, that these are gifts or religions, beliefs that don't go aways. But we all can change as we learn more and understand and move to a higher level of understanding.
Hate is a strong word, we all need to let go all resentment and respect one an others beliefs.

Every group has haters. Wiccans are not immune. But that is your friend's personal opinion and has nothing to do with Wicca. Your friend is also showing her ignorance with her close-mindedness. Wicca is less than a century old. No Wiccan has ever been burned or otherwise executed for their beliefs. Your friend has embraced a pseudo-history with no credible evidence behind it.

I think the slaughter of 20 million people, most of whom were women, is a ghastly thing for a religion to do. I also think we need to remember that the Christians we have today are not the same ones who did that, but we also have to remember that they think the same way - there are evangelical fascists in the military killing and torturing in the name of the Christian deity and using our tax dollars to do it.

So, your friend has a point. One of the big preachers - Dobson, I think - said he's going to drive all the Pagans out of America. Bush wouldn't even acknowledge our right to worship if it were up to him. This is a hostile environment for Wiccans, so try to be understanding for your friend. We're dealing with a lot of opposition.

She has a persecution complex which makes her just like christians. I'm Wiccan but I don't hate christians. I don't agree with their beliefs but that doesn't mean I hate them. Perhaps if she learned the true history she would see that christians and pagans both killed each other. "The Burning Times" was a matter of genocide just like the Holocaust. Most weren't burned but were killed by other means and they weren't even witches.

And, for the record, your temper does not scare me.

Let's look at that symbolically... shall we?......

The term wicca - is also a faith..... symbolically this could represent a person or a people...... that hate.....

Who is it that they Hate? - Christians. which is a faith and could represent a person or a people...... that are being hated.

If the faith were a people, let's say: Norwegians (for example) that hated the other, let's say: Australians, what would be the point of hating if you don't know that person's heart?

Because it is a faith, you would have to say it is because of the opposing faiths..... Here, opposing persons or people...

Because they do not serve the same god or represent each other, there is disturbance.......

If you don't worship together, what is the point in hating the other?

Ginger

There are many areas to considered about it
1. Environment
2. Family
3. A bad experince
4. Beliefs
and many more
I think we cannot forgot the pass but we can make it secret that no ones would ever know it.
Look for the future....

Ask her if she took part in the early times when the christians fought or Burned the Wicca...
tell her its not her who was there and so , she should forget and keep her feelings so normal ..love doesnt just belong to Wicca only ...its for every one , let her open her heart and learn to love ..real love and not just loving pipo by a finger number ...

I think religion is a very difficult matter. I lost a friend because she became a fundamentalist and would not be my friend anymore because I did not want to be like Jesus, like she did.

I suggest that you and her live your life on the ethic that beliefs do not really matter. They are just that, beliefs. They are not really significant and should not be used in any judgment.

I think that everyone is different and we all have different beliefs and opinions. So you either excpt your friend for who she is and try to understand her or well simple really don't!! I personally have never heared of Wicca, but I would like to get know about so I could understand. Just remember that everyone is different.
