Why do animists think that suffering occurs throughout the world?

John Lennon said god is what we use to measure our pain.
I personally don't believe in god or it's offshoot the soul (that which animism is built upon) but I do realize regardless that suffering occurs throughout the world and there are ways of alleviating this suffering .so they most likely believe this because it true.

Because Christians cause a lot of that suffering.
