Hey Bitz

It depends on what you are going for and where you are. There are so many different ways to fish. fresh water, salt water, from land or from a boat, dunking, fly fishing or whipping.
Dunking; is when you use a baited hook on a floater or wieghted down line thrown out and left alone for a while to see if you get a bite.
Fly fishing; is when you use a fly fishing rod with a tide fly as a lure and you throw it out in front of a fish that you can see in hopes that it will bite, and
Whipping; is a favorite way where I live. You put a plasic or rubber lure on a long leader and cast it as far as you can and then reel it back in, in hopes of drawing the fish up from the bottom to bite the line, you can also use live bait for this type of fishing as well as for dunking to.
On a boat you can troll or bottom fish. These ways of fishing can produce way bigger fish, but have more of an expense. The boat and fuel, the poles for trolling are really expensive.
Trolling you rig a line and pole and dragit behind the boat until you get a hit or until you give up.
Bottem fishing is were you pick a place to park out in the deep and drop a few baited lines over the side and to the bottom and wait till you get a bite or give up.
All ways of fishing are good ways of fishing, it helps you to relax and have fun.
There is a syaing that all fisherman have,
"A bad of fishing is alway better than a good day at work".
Good luck ....cya....
