yes
i was bullied for many reasons
i am overweight
i am a juggalette
i wear alot of black
i had a mohawk
i wear chains & straps all over my pants
i paint my nails bl;ack
i've had pink hair
i'm bipolar & adhd
i have piercings
b/c my friend was gay so i was automatically accused of being gay
who my friends wereI was never good enough
i was "stupid"
the list goes on
I got teased,beaten up etc
NOONE did ANYTHING
but when i fought back i always got in trouble
i've tried killing myself like 5 times
you know there's only so much a person can take
but after the last attempt i realized
they don't matter to me
they can't judge me only god can judge me yanno?
so i just don't worry about bthices like that anymore
&& as for the not taking it seriously, it's b/c we are taught at a young age that different is bad
so they let the bullying go on thinking that maybe if a kid is bullied or pressured enough, they might change & be normal or just kill themselves
b/c who wants a fat weird kid or a cutting emo or anyone different who doesn't coincide with the norms of society around?
right?
that's what we're taught

Why do certain people bully others? They themselves have no self esteem and just plain don't care about other people. That's how they get there kicks. They are abusive, malicious, idiots who care about only themselves. They have to go with the group. Being popular is more important. Even the (so called) popular groups with turn on each other. I call that sick and abusive behavior.
We have all read and watched the stories unfold right before are very eyes about school shootings. Where do you think that comes from? In the end the words "being bullied" always comes into play. It's the same thing as the story you heard about the 16 yr. old girl who tried suicide to get out of being bullied. She rather die than go through another day of being bullied. How so very sad.
Kids who are being bullied don't want to report this to the principal or school social worker, because they know the bullying will only get worse.
What do the schools preach .... "there will be no bullying in this school." If you really look around you'll find that most kids being bullied are special ed. kids or kids that are a little different than they are. They can also be your ordinary, basic kids.
My own grand daughter was bullied and tormented in school.
When I brought this up at a meeting I attended with mom and grand daughter the teacher said "she noticed nothing and she even had another teacher with her in her classroom."
This same question has come up many times before on this sight and most of the answers given, oh kids are like that.
Hay, I need a better answer than that! That's not good enough. They don't have a clue that a 16 yr. old goes home and tries to commit suicide or they wonder why some kid shoots up the school. Would there answer still be the same, "oh kids are like that"?
Yes, I've seen it happen and show the kids who did it. Did it stop? Of course not. I believe teachers must be held accountable and not ignore what's going on, because they have schedules to keep. Other kids need to come to the aid of these kids being bullied also. Get involved, don't be affraid.

Im not sure but schools and govt should do something about it
There are serious cases in our town too. One 10 yr old disabled boy was bullied and pushed into a burning hut by 8 yr olds and a young girl hung herself due to the same thing. Pathetic

People don't take it seriously because there are different levels of bullying, and people react to them in different ways. Some people feel that everybody gets bullied at some point and it's not a big deal, because in their own experience they were able to get over it fine.
But for other people and in other situations, the bullying is much more traumatic and serious.

it's so sad to see people get picked on. I am a very self conscious person, it's hereditary as is the depression I suffer from. I was picked on because of my hair and my bubble butt. It made me not want to go to school, I quit doing my homework in 6th grade and was failing, which made me get yelled at by my parents, which made me feel worse. It's an awful sprial, and puberty is the worst. Everyone looks awkard, feels different etc. I honestly can understand why someone would reach the point of trying to kill themselves over being bullied. For the weak people, they can only take so much before they end it because they feel no hope and also feel no one is there for them to talk to. Now that I am older it makes me sad and I now stand up for myself which I started doing in highschool. I also got control of my frizzy hair and as for my butt, who cares. The best thing I ever did was stand up for myself and I didn't get picked on after that. Maybe it made me a hard person and I became kinda mean when it came to that but oh well. Now, I stand up for the underdog. I worked at a restaraunt where 3 bullies took a quiet shy kid and used his money for dinner, and then took his change. I know it wasn't my business but I went over because they sh itheads were being loud and I said you know what..get outta here!! I also told them I witnessed them taking the kids money and they were no longer welcome. They got mad but it felt really good. The shy kid thanked me and I could tell he just wanted friends. I hate bullies and teachers and school faculty need to stop the drama too and not just watch it or say oh come on now kids lets all get along.

that is a horrible story, hopefully she is OK and didn't die...personally i was bullied as a kid...i used to be martyr of sorts...i always used to stand up for those who got picked on, so I was not the most popular kid in school (basically from like 6th grade through HS it was torture). unfortunately i don't think that people take bullying as serious as they should. if a kid gets a detention for bullying it isn't taken seriously - i don't know why this isn't taken seriously but it ought to.

Anime, you say... Well, I'd try Pokemon, (STARTING FROM SEASON ONE) Action: Battling Comedy: Occasional jokes; plus Team Rocket in every episode! Romance: There is a little bit of love between Ash and Misty, which can be seen in Season 5 (mostly) and also some hints in Pokemon 2000: The Power Of One

I was bullied and there was little help for it. I am noticing because of the violence in school that finally the schools are taking notice and starting to do something about this.

I hav been bullied. If sum1 insults u, the best thing to do is compliment them. I wudnt do this if a gang of guys is about to beat u up, but with girl's catty bullying (sumtimes alot more nasty than guys) it works. This bully in my class was insulting me, and i sed "I really like ur top. Wer did u get it?" She looked stunned, and sed pardon. Hahaha!
Anyway, i agree. Bullying can b very serious. A frind of mine has gone through more serious bullying. A boy on his road destroyed his new bike, tried to beat him up, and was threatening him to get stuff off him like money. He didnt want to tel his parents, cos he was scared they wud b angry at him for becoming frends ith sum1 like tht bfore the bullying started, and not telling them immediately about the bike. I had to intervene, and told him he needed to tel his parents, and told his sister tht (for HIS own good) if he didnt hav the courage to, she needed to tel them.
Many ppl becum bullies if they hav been bullied themselves, or if they r bullied themselves. esp if parents abuse them, it appears to be their only way of dealing with it. Others r just nasty spoilt so-and-so's and like having power.
Hope this helps, and if it does, i wudnt mind ten points for a best answer! hehe, no pressure :)

Bullying has been around since the age of time. it is only now, with new a sissified generation of kids who are a bunch of whiners and emos that bullying is seen to be something to worry about. when I was a kid and got bullied, I took a friggin pen knife from a gumball machine to school the next day and threatened to kill the kid. He never bothered me again.
